Do you think Cesc can control a midfield the way Xavi does? Cesc is waaay too direct to be given the midfield role at Barca. That's why they even prefer Thiago in that role when Xavi is injured.

Cesc can definitely control a midfield to a high degree. Obviously not on Xavi's level. But better than Iniesta and Thiago, who's a laughable mention alongside him.

Even you don't believe that. Gerrard was phenomenal, just not as good as Scholes. It's great that Stevie got that kind of recognition in his career. I'm very happy that an English player did. But he wasn't ever the best in the world. And he wasn't ever better than Scholes. A more dynamic midfielder or better engine I have never seen though. Top quality.

Wow if you would believe everything said on this thread you would think Scholes wasn't even PL standard whats the point posting it here. Most of you probably didn't even watch him regularly, you just shout about how your players are better.

If you want to talk about United players with people who watch them, post it on the United board. If you want to hear how overrated and average they actually are by people who don't even watch them, post it on boards of rival teams.
