i'll never understand why bale never gets picked for England.. surely he deserves a chance. it's so weird how he's never even considered
Is the current national management setup too elitist that it no longer looks at any other clubs than the top sides in the Premier League and Arsenal?
---
Can you think any players that are upgrades over those that have been picked, from lower in the league?
How Walker got in is a mystery. He's been poor this season.
TOOR - Agreed
JAY - Lambert from Southampton has been in good form. Although he's 31 years old he's been knocking them in consistently for 3 seasons.
The OX is in the squad
Woy must of heard how world class he is
How does The Ox get picked for England, when he does not get picked for Arsenal. And Defoe despite having not scored for 13 games gets picked for England. The whole England set up sucks. Roy is obviously not picking players on form, he is obviously just picking the players on clubs they play for. Same old same.

No he has not, you obviously just watched him make one mistake against Liverpool on Sunday to judge he has been poor this season.

Why obviously? Where did you pluck that from?
So yeah, I'll go with this season, as stated in my posted, not the 'obvious' one game you've made up.
Walker has been poor this season. Very poor and don't get me started on his corners or why he's even taking corners. I'm sure many of your own fans will agree.
You complain about Defoe, well I'm sorry but he's one of the best English strikers, he should be in the squad. Walker is just poor, even as backup.
The thing is, even though Walker has been poor this season (sorry to disagree Sandy), I can't see how players are being picked by their previous England performances if they are not playing regular football at the moment eg Oxlade-Chamberlain. Form has been sacrificed.

Exactly. It seems that his players picked on form comment is only relevant for some but not others. Ox has been poor but has the potential. Even Downing has five goals and seven assists this season whilst being in good form recently. Surely he can feel annoyed by Ox's inclusion? Rio has been recalled, I'd have to say, now that Terry isn't there, it's the right decision, his form has proved he deserves it but littered throughout the squad are players who are in bad form.
I can only think that he will be playing some of these players against San Marino which we should win easily anyway, just so that these "out of form" players are still included in the England set-up. Hopefully they will regain their form but I do think other more worthy players have been overlooked.
It shouldn't really matter who plays against San Marino to be honest!

Walker played every game of an unbeaten 12 match run, you don`t get continually picked if you are as bad as you are making him out to be. With all due respect I think I would sooner judge AVB, a european trophy winner and the England manager over your judgement.
I can see some of the club managers having a word in Roys ear about resting their players for this one though.

Fair point Sandy. Perhaps too judgmental to call him poor this season but I don't think he has been as good as last season.
Being the best player in your position doesn't mean you have played well, Sandy.
Also team performance doesn't necessarily mean an individual performance has been good.

Don't understand the Walker bashing. A loss of some form doesn't make you a bad player. He was excellent last season. Also he looks as if he is trying to recapture that even though he has off games.
I've never said he's a bad player. Last season he did very well. He has been poor this season. It's apparent he's England's future right back but he shouldnt be picked on this form he should be made to work for it.
