They're bigger bottle jobs than us (Arsenal).

Zenit went out to Basel, despite the Swiss side being reduced to ten men for half the game!
Surely, anyone who gets Basel would probably think they're looking at the semi-finals. Ditto for anyone who gets Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Spurs record without Bale:
Won 4, drawn 2, lost 1
Why bring off Defoe, when adebayors been horrible all season?
Bale is just class- how else could Tottenham get to third in the Premier League with Defoe and Adebayor?
No disrespect to them but that's the type of players Spurs had as a mid-table club; if they want to be a Champions League club and challenge at the top end then they need a World Class striker to get them through games in which Bale is absent.
Bale has been completely nullified tonight. Hope other teams are taking note.

Why they thought going into the new season with just those two was a good plan god only knows.
Spurs aren't likely to attract a top striker. The top strikers have better options.
They won't break that 70k a week barrier and until they are willing to they will miss out on players that will take them to the next level.
That said I'm certain they could do better than middle of the roaders like Defoe and adebayor
Zaneti does not play like a 39 year old.
836 games for inter. Incredible.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any realistic targets for them that would provide a notable increase of quality. I know they've been linked with Damiao for the past 50 transfer windows but I can't see it happening. Cavani, Falcao, Villa etc whilst available are out of their price range or simply too good and will have other options. They'd be best gambling on someone like Benteke, Kone, Michu or Holt in my opinion.
Dzeko would be good if he doesn't end up at Dortmund
Amazing.
I thought they'd lose tonight- I wanted to bet 1-0 but luckily didn't when it was conveniently the early game- however to actually go out of the competition is something I didn't see happening before the game!
I had money on them to win the frickin' competition after I realised Atletico Madrid were out
Decent display from young Kovacic.
A lot of people were looking that way too, myself included. They had been on some form and seemed to be one of the only remaining contenders treating it very seriously.
If Spurs get an away goal they go through yes?
Yeah. Unfortunately apart from noughtons recent strike they haven't got near the inter goal.
Pens probably of anything.
If Spurs got the away goal then Inter would require five.
They've looked awful.
AVB was massively naive with his team selection. 4-4-2 away from home, without your best player, defending a 3-0 lead against one of the best clubs in the world...
Moron.
defending a 3-0 lead against one of the best clubs in the world
Hmm.
Avb was niave but this inter team are poor.
note i said clubs, not team. This club are used to being in this position. Their fans too. It makes a difference. Spurs have shown their naivety.
