Are we the Millwall of the Premier League

You're paranoid. Spurs are far from being the most despised team in the Premier League. Ever heard of Man United? Or Stoke City?

I'm not really talking about style of play (Stoke) or jealousy of success (Utd). Generally about the fact that we are not allowed to be successful with the budget we have, and that we have one, if not the best players in the league.

It's hard for the pundits to praise your efforts given the score line irrespective of the score in the first leg

The less media attention the better

I totally agree, Beglin last night was anti Spurs and so are the majority of the media.

Townsend, Gale, Durham (complete tool), Marwood etc etc all hate to see Spurs being successful.

A lot of it goes back to the Sky 4 love in and newspapers owned by the same people that own Sky.

They can not take Spurs seriously or give us ant credit because we are not one of their Sky4 favourites and do not have owners throwing money at buying success.

I think a lot of it is down to jealousy, they look at how Spurs are run (within our means) and hate the thought of us being successful doing things in the correct way.

"The less media attention the better"

+1.

If the govt could legislate that all Spurs articles must conform to a 4" x 2" column max on an inside page, that would be great.

To be fair though they all love Everton - pretty much an exact replica of Tottenham. Buy within their means. Pity they are not as good as Spurs and play sh i t football yet the experts love them

If Spurs don't get a CL slot this time, would have liked Everton to get it.
Strange in that they looked like they might have been the ones to oust one of the Sky 4, just as BMJ started to turn Spurs into PL top 5 material.

Its weird, the pundits seem to hate us, the media seem to try and sell all our players. Yet we still get overrated by the press and all the players love us.

Chelsea are easily the most universally hated

The commentators last night practically creamed themselves when Inter got back into the game, they were willing Inter to win. Spurs are the only team in the league not allowed the odd off day. It was inevitable as soon as Spurs lost a game or two the media would be jumping straight in, and talking about collapses, etc.

The media have since Sunday started the Liverpool for top four bandwagon nonsense again.

Beckham got more praise than Spurs today, even though he has only played about 5 minutes footie for his present club, the amount of airtime he was given, you would think it is Barca v Beckham in the next round of the CL. It`s pathetic.

How can the 'southern biased media' hate us?

who cares? they dont particularly hate us (with the exception of one or two)

but even if they do, it makes it that little bit sweeter when we do well.

judgeholden: every conversation that I have seen about you on here is about you being paranoid, everyone is saying it

In fairness to last nights commentators, if we had scored in the first ten minutes they woulod have nothing to talk about as it would have been virtually a dead rubber - so they would want Inter to score and do well to give the neutral something to get excited about.

Generally Tottenham are one of those teams, we have a chairman that plays hard-ball all the time, and doesnt leave much for the press to write about - when did you last read "board room bust up at the Lane"? there are no stories.

We aren't the darlings of the press because a lot of journos are gutted AVB hasn't failed after their predictions he would crash and burn spectacularly giving them the "I told you so" self promoting column inches they crave.

there also maybe some jealousy, we have stayed true to our finacial ethos, and fairly close to our footballing ethos of that good old Tottenham style of play. We have a history of playing the style of football we invented -.I am sure that may wind some people up.

OddiY- am I that bad lol!!
Does anyone remember the Arsenal Munich 1st leg where Townsend actually screamed GO ON when Arsenal had a chance. Really really embarrassing when they are meant to be giving a neutral and unbiased view of the game. Beglin and the other clown last night were a disgrace. It was as if their views changed with each goal going in. If analysis is that easy give me the job.

I dont know how neutral and unbiased they are meant to be, their job is also about promotion of their employers, so if they make a game seem more exciting than it really is then people are more likely to stay tuned.

Last night was a real opportunity to show the media and the watching world that we are not a one man team. We blew our lines very badly and brought any criticism that we received upon ourselves.

We don't care what the other teams say, what the hell do we care, because all we know that there's gonna be a show and the Tottenham Hotspur will be there!
