100% nail on the head Otep. Until Paterson and Drury came on we showed nothing in the final third, had no width and played some terrible hoofball.
We actually lowered our standards today and played to the Daggers level, which was really poor. First half yes we dominated but our goal and a couple of half chances was all we had. Tommo had a good save from a free kick towards the end of the half.
Second half we were sloppy all over the park and GR should have dragged MacDonald and Kee off imho a lot sooner than he did. Our defending for their goal was comical but give the player his due he finished it well. Paterson was unlucky with a good effort as soon as he came on and Drury put in a lot of good work.
Sad and tired performance. Need to liven it up now, these two points may just cost us promotion, we cannot have any more slip ups.
I will also have my final word going to MacDonald, send him back.
Strange how things change in football.
This time last year league football was disappearing fast.
Now 12 months on we are in the highest position we have ever been in our history and still people moan about the fact we have just taken 4 points from 2 away games that most would have accepted 2 points.
Win our home games a pick up 4 more points away and i'm sure we will be in league 1.
Now theres a debate in itself.
Might start another thread on this one.
I don't believe anyone is moaning about taking four points in two away games, I believe they are disappointed that we didn't take all 6!!
Yesterday was a below average performance by a tired looking team - I agree with BB we dropped to Daggers standard of football in the second half. I am delighted however, that we actually took a point. A week off and fingers crossed everyone will be back firing on all cylinders for next Saturday.
Liked the difference when Drury and Paterson came on, both should be banging on the gaffers door wanting a start.
Need to keep this roller coaster running
Funny you say that Pez. As I filed out of the ground I thought about the 4 points from 2 away games and concluded that I would have snapped someones hand off had that been on offer before the games.
Overall delighted with the combined points haul but, as the manager said, it wasn't a vintage performance yesterday.
That leads me on to my next thought on filing out of the ground (it took a while to get out). You go away and don't play that well but you get a point from it. That ain't bad either.
Ok 3 points would have been great ; but a point is not so bad. That point may mean something come the end of the season. A home win next weekend and every one around us not doing so well would change everything again. There will be lots more twists and turns before the end. The Brewers are still 9 points ahead of 8th spot and unless the wheel falls off, I can see no reason why we dont make the playoffs. Dont get me wrong I would love for us to do it the easy way ; but as every one on here knows what happend the last time we got promoted, we did not make it easy.
I hope GR just keeps his head and just keeps doing what he has been doing. Just keep topping up the points and lets see where it gets us.
Up the Brewers.
