Similar stuff down south, why the news fail to mention what even caused the police to be deployed is beyond me.
The Police are d-ck heads but so are the GB.
Who do they think they are? Some oppressed political movement that's suffering unfair injustice?
They're supposed to be football supporters. Stick to supporting the team and give it a rest with the rest of the shi'ite you indulge in.
Better to send too many than too few.
At the end of the day, if the green brigade had wanted to do a protest march, they should have followed the laws that apply to everyone else and had it sanctioned.
There are laws that apply to our society and these wee bams are not above them.
The police played right into their hands now some elements will be able to pedal further the paranoid oppressed nonsense.
Chuman,
Not sure the two stories are similar.........just read yours, was that not some sort of battle between fans getting organised ?
The GB was a peaceful protest march, I understand their paperwork wasn't quite in order but ffs take the heat out of the situation and let them walk to Celtic Park.............might even have been good PR for the Police.
They wanted to march on the road, and were told no. They did it anyway. This was about the GB provoking confrontation for their own propaganda. Nothing else.

===================================
What's the option? Allow them to break the law and disobey the police? That would empower them further.
Just keep lifting the wee dobbers. But don sympathise with them, that just feeds their delusions that they are modern day freedom fighters.
Dunno pontuis doesnt say anything in the article.
You can't just let a crowd march on an open road with traffic!
That's just crazy!
Dialogue is the way forward...........treat the GB like neds and that's how they'll behave.
The GB add atmosphere to games and I for one am quite happy for them to be there.
There's no need to give them hero status just give them an ear..............talk to them ffs.

Or it could be cause they are wee neds.
Its a propaganda war and yesterday just helped the GB massively.
When they start to behave like something other than wee neds, maybe. Until then, they get treated lije anyone else. Break the law, you pay.
What can they not just go to the game, watch, support team & leave? This freedom fighting stuff is complete bollox
If Celtic had any balls at all, they would ban the GB from the ground. This is a confrontation that Celtic cannot win, so stepping back seems the sensible way to go.

How so? I seen the police doing their job and the Green Brigade being kept under control without any major trouble to the public.
Good result.
It has nout to do with celtic. Wasnt yesterday's march a response to some of them already having bans from parkhead.
going by some posts on here and responses to video footage they have gained sympathy mitre.
Sorry, by association, you wear the colours, it affects the club. Now GB want Celtic to come to their defense.
nonsense daviecooper, the club is only responsible for what goes on within the ground.
If that was the case we would have loads of chelsea fans running around wearing rangers tops
they big polis wont let us act like neds
I seem to remember tims creaming themselves about new sectarian laws, did they think it only applied to bears chickens and roost spring to mind
Pontius
Polis cocked their tactics up big time yesterday.
It's good to talk.
Was waiting for that. Seem to remember Rangers getting done for actions of fans outside ground...
And if club only responsible for inside ground, why encourage these neds in the first place?
Well any time a half wit acts out of order it seems its rangers fault, c'mon chunky stop making the rules up as you go along

I'm sure the general population is more likely to be happy with the actions.
Like I said on the other thread, would folks views be the same if the BNP had arranged an illegal protest march on queen street in the middle of a Saturday afternoon and the police had resolved it so quickly without any major outbreaks of violence? It would rightfully have been viewed as a successful police operation.
Typical parochial bears.
Tims being battered by polis = justifiable.
