erm, i was at the game, and unless i am missing something, we played the exact same system we have played for the last 2 months apart from the 4-4-2 we played v inter

we lined up in a 4-4-1-1

agree with you on lennon. which is why we facked it at the san siro by bottling the game and then having to bring him on when he clearly had not fully recovered from his hamstring problem. and it cost us.

Man up.

We need to find a quick winger to compete with Lennon and bale. A lot of our attacking play is based around their pace on the flanks which is why we struggle so much without it.

While we're at it there's no point in playing bale in a central role if we've got siggy and dembele cutting in as all it does is cramp the midfield and not allow him any room to run at defenders

How can a club going for top 4 and a EL only have 2 wingers in a bloody squad.

Even worse when one plays AM!

Could've done with Townsend in the Pool, Inter and today's game!

" the other thing is Lennon, every time he is injured, we loose it , shape gone, season gone every year"

This is a big question.
For all this "one man" team b-o-l-l-o-c-ks, why is a form injury/slump so damaging for one (admittedly unsung) player ??

yeah FACK OFF LEVY.

i preferred the relegation battles we had under Sugar

And that's what I'm talking about.

Levy has been excellent for us but for the past say, 5 transfer windows we've all been left disappointed.

Now when things are not going so well, once again later on in the season the manager gets all the blame, even though he didn't get one player he really wanted in the transfer windows in the summer or January.

If someone told me at the start of the season we were going to get top 4 with just Defoe and Ade as our strikers, who end up being useless for the whole season, and loaning out our only wing covers to now be left with none I'd laugh at them.

Levy has disappointed for ages now in transfer windows.

Then when it all goes wrong it's either:

Blame the manager for not using the right players/not rotating. When the players are fecked as theirs no one else to even play...

Or

Don't blame Levy look how far his taken us.

---

how dare he buy 6 players in summer, one of whom is world class, and the other 5 international class, 4 of which were proven in the prem

posted on 17/3/13

Made sure he got all the money back that he spent though didn't he

He had no choice buying them players...

He sold TWO WORLD CLASS players in Modric and VDV.

He bought 3 greats players in the summer. Lloris, Dembele and Vertonghen.

The other two?

Dempsey- One good season at the age of 29 bought for 6 million.

Sigurdsson- One good HALF a season, bought for 8 million.

siggy clearly bought for the long term though.

as for dempsey, for 6 million pounds we could have bought a much worse player the way todays market is going. when we sell livermore i bet we get 5 for him and he is useless.

as for he sold modric and vdv, well he didnt have much choice with modric did he, after being a priiiick the season before and then going on striker.

and by many accounts, vdv was ready to leave

you are not putting up a very good argument here...

are you aware that we just built a training ground and are trying to fund a stadium? i can assure you that we are not paying for either in rupees

*going on striker.

My argument is he has left us short in the past 2 seasons.

As for the whole training ground and stadium yes it's great that we've got a new training centre one of the best in Europe. An the new stadium will be amazing but...

Levy still went for it with Moutinho in the summer bidded 24 million but what happened? It fell through. Why? Because he waited till the last day possible an then got Levy'd himself by the Porto chairmen.

Did Levy learn his lesson this January?

At the time we had no strikers. So fair enough he bids for Damiao but again, he leaves until the last day and what happens? The same thing.

Now look what position we're in.

Trying to win the EL and get into the top 4 with...

2 wingers.
Only 2 FIT CM/DM's that we trust start
An 2 strikers that can't score...

Come May if we fack it up again, who's going to get the blame? I pretty sure it won't be Levy.

Also Dempsey, 6 million isn't a lot no but he is 30 now and the only reason Levy got him was because he panicked.

tbh, when i saw benny at left mid i thought ok well at least he will give us natural width, which we lacked....

it wasnt working and avb changed it at half time.. which is fair enough - he now knows that benny isnt adaptable enough to play in the midfield.

the problem is that when we dont have lennon, we really really struggle, have done for ages.

Townsend was made for today's game.

So narrow today.

i have spoken about my view on townsend lots...

i personally think that him going on loan to QPR will benefit us long term, as he seems to be improving at a far quicker rate than he would have done spending the majority of the time on our bench.

that said, i will concede that today, we did miss a winger..

I didnt think wed get T4 this term...but now we so close im gutted we bottling it AGAIN........
