The first quarter-final paired Tyke and his Tromse against Dog and his Rosenborg. This proved to be a very entertaining match with Tyke going in 2 – 1 up at half-time cancelling out Dog’s equalizer with a strike just before half-time. However a soft penalty to Dog saw him claw the game back to 2 – 2 on the half-hour mark and an end to end contest ensued with Tyke scoring a winner in the 87th min to send him through and Dog out, just like the La Liga tournament, these two players fought our a thrilling match and whilst Dog has lost all three of his knock-out games I believe he is improving at a steady rate.

The second quarter-final saw two tournament favourites meet earlier than expected. Virus and Voom both had tournament winning aspirations and so it showed when a tight game was won by Voom 2 – 1, Voom struck early, Virus equalized but in true Voom fashion he came through with 2 – 1 win to set up a semi-final against Tyke. Disappointing for Virus after a great start to the tournament and with a strong team in Molde, this will have to go down as an opportunity missed.

The third quarter-final saw a repeat of last official tournaments quarter-final with SpursBoy facing off against Henry. In a match which was a relative bore fest, Henry enacted his revenge against SpursBoy and sent him out of the tournament with a 1 – 0 golden goal victory. Quite crushing this was for SpursBoy who posted his worst ever tournament finish further cementing his decline, as for Henry; yet again he is in the last four!

The last quarter-final saw reigning champion Kent take on Jag. Kent’s connection was still not right and yet again this played a stop-start match, however his performance was just as dodgy as his connection as Jag ended his reign as champion to post a 2 – 0 victory. Kent had no complaints and it was a remarkable achievement to become champion, however the truly immortal players will win tournaments like this, I’m sure he will be back mind. Jag though is through to his second semi-final in as many tournaments!

The first semi-final saw Tyke and Voom square off, Voom came in as favourite despite Tyke having the better team as Tyke has never beaten Voom, this did not change either in this match, but he gave him one hell of a game! An end to end battle saw chances wasted by both players and golden goal ensued, a post-strike by Tyke proved to be the turning point as Voom went on to score in the 27th minute of the golden goal match so Voom eventually did progress to his third official final, but Tyke made him work for it after halting his own tournament decline.

A rather unlikely semi-final pairing in Jag and Henry took place in a one-sided affair much to the disappointment of Henry, but to the delight of Jag. An early goal by Jag set the tone of the game and he would go on to crush Henry 4 – 0, very clinical. Henry will obviously be disappointed by this performance, but he did very well with a poor team to get this far yet again. Jag reached the final that few would’ve tipped him to do, a massive achievement.

So the final it is and tournament favourite Voom took on the unlikely challenger Jag. In what was a game largely dominated by Voom, Jag seemed to let the mental side of his game get to him constantly citing how Voom was dominating, the key is to believe you can still win, important lesson folks! But yeah back to the match Voom won by the solitary goal to put the shock finalist to the sword.

Commiserations Jag the ranking points will do you good and we would like to see you here more, but Voom has equalled SpursBoy’s record and whilst he isn’t arguably as powerful as SpursBoy was back then he sure don’t look like declining any time soon! See you all next time at the English Premier League tournament and don’t forget to check out the updated rankings!

Great stuff Tyke, I'll be looking to play in the next tournament, and hopefully I'll be able to get my revenge.
