Does Ally ever learn
===============
Apparrantly not
It is becoming more and more difficult to defend Ally as the weeks go by. However today we did suffer due to injuries, and suspension.....he really didn't have a full deck to play with.
Having said that it also looks like our younger players are not up to the task at this moment in time. What is more concerning is that the team looks like it has never had a days coaching, training, practice in its entire life. Auchinleck could have given us a run for our money today......that is worrying.
For a club with our wage bill, and full time training, not to mention our training facilities....we are a poor example of professional sportsmen.
I don't know why your bringing in the likes of Daly TBH. He's not a bad player like but is he really worth 3 times (or so) what United can pay him
I'd just want a squad of young guys coming through, with maybe a couple of seasoned players, if I was you guys like
I've no problem with Daly as long as he is part of a series of signings that address the areas that we need sorting. I think we will probably still be in the 3rd division next season ( assuming this re-org is accepted ).
So a player like Daly would probably fit in reasonably well. We would then require decent midfield / creative players, not to mention strengthening the defence.
I don't know if Ally is the man to lead us forward though.....
"I'd just want a squad of young guys coming through, with maybe a couple of seasoned players, if I was you guys like"
Or doing what you guys do and nab the best of the lower league talent, like you done with Douglas and Mackay Steven.
There is plenty of it down here, just the guys for one reason or another haven't had a break into the full time game.
Can't really comment on Ally TBH I've only seen Rangers 3 times this season, but Daly has been a good captain for United and I wish him all the best, I'd have liked him to stay for another season, but if he can get more money fair enough, the big man is not getting any younger
Bluenose, you maybe have better ability to bring through more young players than us though, were trying our best to bring them through (no choice really)
The facilities are there, and there is a decent batch of youngsters coming through. It's a matter of throwing them into the wolves so to speak.
Fair enough, like I said I haven't seen much of Rangers this season.................not sure what Daly will be like for you's though, I like him at United but sometimes he does seem a bit lazy at times, but he does seem to have a good footballing head on him.
I'm not sure if he'll be played up front, if he does join.
I can see him being played at centre back. I hope he isn't used as a long ball target man, as that's not really his strengths.
I don't think United have ever lost when the big man has played at the back
But don't quote me on that one
Too late.
He seems to be an intelligent enough guy. The knee injuries he's had is the most concerning thing though.
Like I said I like Daly and would have liked to see us get someone over 200 caps which seems a lot these days
He's about 170 just now with a decent goals return too about 60 odd or 1 in 3
Sad to see him go TBH
Aye it does.
Scary thing is, some of the younger players we have in our side just now will be close to the when we return.
Would you class him as a legend wca?
I think he's the next candidate for the hall of fame He's been our captain through our most successful period outside of the McLean years.
Believe it or not 5 top 5 finisnes and the scots cup is all its taken
He'll deserve it for service alone.
He might still sign on with you though. Unless it's actually agreed he's moving here.
Think its a done deal i'm afraid I'll wish him all the best unless he turns up at Tannadice next season in the cup. Could happen as we draw Rangers every year, then he'll be BOOED
Well he has my support, even if he's not the type of player I'd have targetted.
He'll score goals though, and add some physical presence to the side, which is something we lack.
Aye well see ye's in the cup next year.....................
Its bound to happen..............
Cups are the least of my worries for next year.
See yous at tannadice next year
unless its a boycott
That won't happen again.
It's time to just get a grip and move on now.
