Bill Shankley used to say that if you organised 11 dustbins right, they would be hard to beat.

The signings were rushed, but there is proven premier league players.

There are players there that played in a UEFA cup final.

4 or 5 have played in the champions league.

Shankley didn't say impossible to beat. Hard to beat, but your dustbins wouldn't win.

And Rangers have lost 2 league games, and are 20 points clear.

We were left what we were left with, and signed what we could. I doubt any other manager would have done better, and many would have done worse.

They are fcking awful. McCoist is woeful. An inept manager. He's had a whole season to get professional footballers of a much higher standard convincingly beating the rest of the part time players in the league.

He hasn't managed it.

FFS look at the way England demolished San Marino - that's what we should be doing.

FFS Look at Scotland and Wales, thats what we are talking about.

I think you make some good points Mac, at the start of the season the mission was to get promotion..nothing more. After a shaky start the critics said that if we were not top of the league by xmas, then the management should go. Well we were top and by about 10 points, now as you say we are 20 points in front. Granted the quality of football has been very poor in the last few weeks, but when there is nothing to play for players switch off. Its wrong, very very wrong given what they get paid, but it is a fact at every club. So lets see what next season brings and take it from there. This time last year we didn't think that we would even have a club to support.

all wumming aside i find it quite baffling any gers fan slating McCoist, yes you have had some pash results but your strolling the league...will be interesting to see if green has the baws to give McCoist money to spend next season to improve the squad...

The quality of football has been poor for 90% of the season though. The only decent spell of football was between October and December, which coincided with creating a gap of 10 points. Since that run ended, and before it begun, it's been pretty dire, the only reason why we've created a gap of 20 points in the fact the rest are so even. Strolling, nah, stumbling more like. Strolling the league would be challenging the records Gretna set, but we can't even do that.

It's been a season of excuses this season. The players never had a pre-season. Fair enough, but this excuse was peddled in January FFS. Plus I doubt any other side in this division were away for a week or 2. The side was thrown together is another one. Aye it was, but they are still playing as if they are strangers. Tactically we are all over the shop. Whatever we are doing in training, it's clearly not tactic work. Look at the following pics:

Laughing and joking? There's a time and a place. No wonder things are the way they are as they are, with that happening.

One player we signed had an association with the club. One. The rest were all foreigners, or support other teams. One player with an association/support of the club. We should have been looking to bring in Rangers fans, at least then they'll play for the jersey.

Quite frankly this season is a waste. We had a chance to lay down some foundations for the future in regards to coaching and scouting yet we're still looking to bringing in SPL players.

Time for McCoist to shape up, or get out.

Right Bluenose this has been doing my head in for the last 10 minutes... who is the one player with affiliation you are talking about?

Shiels.

Sheila has probably been our laziest player.

Out of all the signings only the Greek and cribari seem to put in a shift

Man City have spent about 5 billion quid and they'll be lucky to win as much as us this season

Where have you been ? McCoist had less than 2 weeks to bring in players and has been unable to sign anyone since. We've lost 2 games and are 20 points in front. Meanwhile McCoist has had to deal with more shxt than any mamaner in the history of the club and arguably, football. I'm not saying he's a 2nd Mourinho but gi the guy a brek !!
Its all very well talking about SPL players, UEFA Cup Final and CL players....have look at the mid field on Saturday.....all boys .
Let him sign some Bosmans in September and wait and see where we are at Xmas.

posted on 25/3/13

I wouldn't trust him in the transfer market. Has he ever signed a decent player?

posted on 25/3/13

Aluko and Bocanegra weren't just "decent" signings, they were great signings.
Again, it goes back to: "You pay peanuts, you get monkeys" and even in the SPL last season, with Whyte at the helm, he was paying peanuts and I'm surprised we even managed to unearth that pair...

posted on 25/3/13

Ive been watching the team, I'm just being honest. The previous 12 months could have been wasted in regards to improving scouting and coaching rtc.

posted on 25/3/13

Aluko has been the best signing he has made. The rest have been average to poor imo.

posted on 25/3/13

Forgot about those two

Lot of dross as well though.

The thing is though, we ain't paying peanuts. Our wage bill is still the second highest in Scotland but we've been horsed out of every cup.

posted on 25/3/13

Wallace ? Templeton ? He's restricted as not everyone wants to play in Div 3

posted on 25/3/13

Wallace has been average for the most part. Templeton hasn't played enough to be judged.
