Is it just me or are some of them really quite weird
I advise everyone to complain to the mods about this fool, its the only way to get rid of him and his boring and repetative articles.

Nothing to do with us. We don't have time to operate actual accounts on the site. We have modded a few of WTGL's articles. The articles are a bit like Marmite and some members like them, for those that don't like them please filter the member and personalise your own experience.

Nothing to do with us. We don't have time to operate actual accounts on the site. We have modded a few of WTGL's articles. The articles are a bit like Marmite and some members like them, for those that don't like them please filter the member and personalise your own experience.

The WUM filter is childish and I will not filter anyone. It appears the site is more concerned about the quantity of users rather than the quality. As no one can justify this rubbish

If people chose not to filter then they need to accept that not all content on the site will be to their tastes. We do have an interest in building user members but do not force members to use the site and we are always happy to close a member's account upon request.

Let's look at things this way. You have a site which I believe you created with the best of intentions. You have people who choose to come here and engage in debate, then you have people who choose to come here and basically post rubbish to annoy or offend other users at a detriment to people who use the site in the spirit we believe it was designed.
How is this beneficial? Are articles like WTGL's a positive image for the site? If you were not a user and decided to come here, what would be your reaction to articles like this? As JA606 is a brand now, do you feel these articles present your site in it's true light?
The WUM filter isn't a solution to this problem. The moderators and site admins need to take action against these users who are runing th experience for others. That will make this site better in the long run. Don't you agree?
One final question, do you think it is right for people to leave this site because of rubbish like this, whilst the wums are allowed to continue their juvenile behaviour?

I think people have the solution to not reading content posted by WTGL and it is their choice whether they use it. If that member has an ethical opposition to not use the filter then they must accept the they will see articles from members that are not to their tastes.

WTGL was an active member on the BBC606 and is an active member on our site. Rightly or wrongly we do not see the articles as a significant problem to our site and the articles are not confined to one team's board and are limited to one per day, so we have little concern that it is a concerted effort to destabilise a single teams board or our website. Both myself and Admin2 have discussed WTGLs and have no major problem with them and the tongue in cheek nature of his articles are fairly obvious e.g. "Football legend and well-mannered humanitarian Josey Barton". WTGL posts less than 1% of the content on this site so we do not perceive him to be a problem. As on OP your own articles may also have debate as to their merit on this site "http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/15463".

We suggest that those members use the site features that are available and accept our moderation. If either of those options present and impasse for the member then yes we would suspect that the member would be right to leave the site.

Not sure what the link you posted is about though. I've written 2 articles on this site, one was a response to Arsenal wums, the other was a response to WTGLs endless wumming on the Motorsport board.
It appears I've got the wrong end of the stick here and wumming is acceptable. Considering that WTGL for instance generally accounts for less than 1% of the content on this site.
Very well, I will accept your moderation and will indulge myself in positive activity (wumming) since my content will be less than 1% of the stuff posted here and will be tongue in cheek as well.
I trust you will turn a blind eye to my efforts as well as I'm not trying to destabilise the site and my future articles and comments will be made in similar spirit to WTGL's

I have no problem with a bit of banter, i also think that my banter is acceptable to most of the people who see it, i know people have filtered me, fair enough, i have filtered 2 posters myself...at the end of the day mate, you either get with the program or you don't...you clearly have issues with what this site offers, so be it!

I'm not asking anyone to ban WTGL, or other users, just asking them to contribute in a reasonable manner here and asking for some tougher moderation when articles are designed primarily to offend or annoy.
Like I stated earlier, no one minds a good wum. Billybob is a particulalry good one and he spends time creating valuable articles which spark debate (feel dirty, just praised Billybob). It's just the boring repetitive articles that I do not understand. WTGL on 606 posted a couple of decent articles, so I know he/she has the ability to write a decent post/article/wum attempt.
That is all I'm saying.
