They can't be in the same division as the first team. They can't get promoted. If Barca were to get relegated, so would the 2nd team
They can't get promoted, and I'd imagine the team below would get in the play offs instead of them.
They finished third or something around that last season in the Segunda. They aren't allowed to join LA Liga.
No, they stay down.
Similarly, if a "A" team got relegated into a division the "B" team played in the "B" team would automatically be relegated regardless of their position.
And no, if the A team gets relegated and the B team win the division below, the B team do not go above the A team, they would get relegated themselves.
lol that is a bit of a ridiculous system.
It is bad enough in the PL with all Fergies old boys rolling over for him, imagine the chaos having Barca B in La Liga will cause.
What is the point of Barcelona B then? if they can't get promoted, what is the point of them being in the league
The point is to allow Barca to develop their players, which in turn benefits the national side.

to give their young players a chance to play competitive football and develop youth in their country. it has kind of worked hasnt it.
They could easily just say they are not bothered though.
The ultimate aim is just for the best of the Barcelona B players to move to the senior side; most recently, it's happened for Pedro and Sergio Busquets to the greatest extent.
If they're good enough, then they'll be moved. Players like Nolito though, who played most of his games for the B team, can still make decent careers out of it. He went to Benfica, I think, didn't he?
There should be system like this in England. It definitely is better than playing reserve football every week.
Don't Man City have a B team playing in the premier league?
How well do you think Arsenal B would do in the championship?
I'm not a fan of this system. I've always felt it can effect other teams in a negative way.
Could you imagine being a fan of a team near the playoffs, you would look at the table and be thinking if Barcelona b finish in the playoffs we might get a chance.
I much prefer our English leagues layout although we could do more to help costs. For example league 2 split in north and south divide to curb travelling costs.
Arsenal B would probably be mid table in Championship. I'd imagine all the top 4 teams B teams would be in similar position.
How well do you think Arsenal B would do in the championship?
Relegated. Easily.
Our B team would get relegated. The Championship is a very high paced physically demanding league, our youngsters would get relegated, just like any other team of youngsters would.
look like Modric,
I like that system too. They do it in Germany I believe.
I think it's a decent system, like any there are positives and negatives with it. But it gives clubs the chance to guarantee their young players games in a competitive league, giving them more chance to develop.
I prefer it to loaning tbh, we often send young players out to other clubs and they get hardly any playing time. Obviously there are exceptions, but I wouldn't be against having a B side in the lower leagues. Though there is the issue of B sides taking up the places of a few lower league teams. There'd have to be a proper reform.
What if the B team gets relegated, do they still stay in same division or do they actually get relegated?
