I'd put a tenner on Solskjær being their next manager

I bet Martin O'Neil hasn't felt this bad since he was turned down by Marge Simpson.

The disgraceful act of losing to United tipped it.

The fact he isn't very good at being a manager for Sunderland is a big factor in this decision I feel.

Pardew should've followed him today after Newcastles pathetic performance
10 year contract wtf?

its 8, and only 1 year pay off so really 1 year rolling with option for us to break contract with him. But yes today was not a good day.

United forcing another manager out. Horrible club.

Martin O'Neill reminds me of Kevin Keegan. Nice guy but his ego makes him believe he's a lot better than he really is.

Phil McNulty, chief football writer of BBC Sport, called O'Neill's sacking 'a shock' - then goes on to list the very good reasons why O'Neill deserved the sack.

"He has presided over a disappointing season that has brought a real threat of relegation." - Tick

"O'Neill has failed to build on a bright start...." - Tick

"Sunderland now in freefall..." - Tick

16 wins from 55 games tells its own story.

As a Mag I'd be only too happy to put the boot in here and point out your clubs failings. And why we should laugh at you.

But I won't because my moral high ground is as thin as a pair of 50p knickers made in China.

What a strange thing to do though. I mean it's MON. Clubs fell over themselves to bring him in and when you lot did, I wasn't a happy Geordie. So Man Utd scrape a win at the SOL and the board sack him? It's utter madness in my view. Who the hell is stepping in at this point in the season? It's suicidal. Unless your board know something the rest of the world don't.

You've taken our crown as the club who sack first class managers at the drop of a hat and that made us look utter fools.

The truth is both our clubs are yet again fighting for their lives while lesser clubs are safe far above us.

It's a sad state of affairs and I think both boards need to take a look at how things are being done.

As for this yewrope thing. Don't even go there, it's totally overated!.

I have a thick skin with all the missed baths, so slate away

Di Canio would keep Sunderland up and bring a bit of life into the PL!

Di Canio, thought he'd be in with a shout. Shame i didn't put a bet on it!

We'll hopefully see some passion now, which is something that we haven't seen for quite a while . . . . I'm sorry to say

I thought he assembled a really exciting team at Villa.

However another manager has once again fallen for the take injured average players from United and hope they're great because they have medals.

Let's hope that he becomes a legend at Sunderland and rams this media witch hunt right back down their throats..

. . . . that is certainly what it is
