Esc - I thought while it was found that you gained no unfair sporting advantage, you were found guilty of illegally registering players?

No?

the players were legally registered, if they were not then they would have been found guilty of gaining an unfair sporting advantage.

Super...

"The commissioners decided unanimously that, although the payments in this case were not themselves irregular and were not in breach of SPL or SFA rules, the scale and extent of the proven contraventions of the disclosure rules required a substantial penalty - £250,000 - to be imposed."

So they fined Oldco but want newco to pay ? they have no jurisdiction over Newco. They organized the tribunal. It is at their expense not ours

What a fack wit Doncaster and his puppet masters are

I'm not sure whether or not they can actually do this now that the result and penalty has been confirmed. I'm sure this would have had to be included in the result, and can't be added retrospectively.

Most of the time costs are apportioned on case result. The party loosing the case usually footing the bill.

In this instance I dont know if the agreement of the NewCo to pick up the Old-co's footballing bills (Transfer costs etc) will mean liability in this case?

I believe that the allocation of costs comes after the verdict and can be some time apart; although there does seem to have been an inordinate amount of time between the two in this case.

Doncaster has just checked the SPL bank balance. Zilchio.... ffs get Rangers tae pay oor bills

Whit a whalloper Doncater is. Complete nonsense to pass costs onto a corporate entity that this result has no connection to nor jurisdiction over. Laughed outta court

I don't think it's classed as a footballing debt. May be wrong there though.

I think you'll find that applies to courts of law. Not kangaroo courts / footballing tribunals by bodies with no jurisdiction over the team it cited or th corporate entity which has no connection with the one it fined

In reading the results of the case it looks like Charles will just present this...

"There is no allegation that the current owner and operator of the club, The Rangers Football Club Limited (“Newco&rdquo, contravened the SPL Rules or could be held responsible for any breach by Oldco."

If they cant be held responsible for the fine then i doubt they can bear the costs to be honest....i may be wrong...Sue Ellen for example...

I don't think that is likely . Chancing their arm is an understatement.

We thought the SPL could no make Scottish football any more of a laughing stock nor make itself to look any more foolish, discredited and corrup than they already had.

We were wrong

How did that smiley get in there...?

The SPL and their legal department have lost the plot completely.

How can they suggest that the current version of Rangers be forced to pay for the misdemeanors of teh previous regime.

Rangers are being forced to pay over and over again

Time for the SPL to be disbanded
