He is right though, if Zaha is worth £15M then Ince should be worth £25M.
The thing is Zaha isn't worth close to that.
Blackpool manager over-valuing a Blackpool player who will be sold in the summer.
What do you expect him to say, come and get him on the cheap???
to be fair, he's his father and manager, he's got every motive for talking up his son!
Next he'll be complaining about the state of English international football, completely oblivious to the fact that inflated prices for promising english players is one of the prime factors in making England shíte.
What do you expect him to say, come and get him on the cheap???
He might try saying nothing. Other than 'Arry Redknapp who would actually be influenced by manager and father of a player? Bet he goes to QPR for £25M now!
He isn't right Batmanu. Ince only has one year left on his deal after this summer, even RVP wasn't worth 25 with that!
Oh didn't know he only has a year left on his contract.
He obviously isn't worth £25M, I think the point he is making is if Zaha goes for £15M then he should go for more than that.
I think if you sat Paul Ince in a darkened room, shone a light in his face and demanded 'the truth' he'd admit his lad is not worth 25 mil.
However he's doing two things here; 1) Warn off potential suitors and/or let them know Ince will not come cheap. 2) Making a point that on form in the Championship, Ince most definitely IS a more effective player than Zaha THIS SEASON!
With a player like Zaha you're paying for potential. Young English players (he's capped now, so I guess that makes him English?). Zaha is younger and more explosive than Ince. Ince has a couple of years more experience and is a more rounded player.
For me, Zaha is a gamble, but one Utd can afford to make. He ould go on to be a very good Prem player, but I'd say it's just as likely he never fulfills his undoubted potential. The step up from the Championship to the Prem is a big one.
Back to Ince's veiled point, his son has had a better season overall and been more impressive and consistent than the much hyped Zaha.
OP, what do you expect him to say?
Everyone here seems to know its not a realistic valuation, only one person has taken it seriously and labelled someone deluded....
But that isn't how transfers work, otherwise everytime a club was selling a striker they'd just point to Torres and £50m?
Plus Zaha is better to anyone who has watched them both, and not just looked at goals scored
He might try saying nothing.
========
So when asked about a player who he will sell in the summer he should say nothing?
Don't be an idiot. It is his job to raise interest in the player, and also get as much as possible for the player.

True but he probably knows Tom will be off somewhere at the end of the season so wants to talk the price up. It seems to be part of the job for managers now. It just so happens he went way over the top.
In my opinion Ince is definitely worth more than Chelsea paid for Mata
Don't take any of these comments like that. He's just saying he's not going to be sold on the cheap.
It's like when people took Mick McCarthy's comments about Kevin Doyle literally
Thomas ince isn't even that good

-------------------
So if I tell you Gervinho is worth £20M in the current environment does that; influence your bid? (No); make you bid because you hadn't realised how good Gervinho must be? (No).
It just makes him sound like he's having a dig at United...
Either way you slice it. As would be Prem players, you're taking a gamble. It works both ways.
Ince looks a more rounded player to Zaha for me, but is a little older and more experiened., so you'd expect that.
I think 15 mil for Zaha (more after appearances, apparently) is a bit much, but Utd can take that gamble.
Ince was linked with Liverpool (who sold him initially) and Blackpool are bracing themselves for inevitable bids this summer. If they get half of 25 mil they'll be doing well.
But it all boils down to the 'young, potentially good & English' tag, which means pretty much as a rule, you end up paying over the odds.
You can't judge one player's worth compared to another.
If football worked like that......any decent striker would be worth more than £35m because Liverpool paid that for Andy Carroll or any world class one would be worth £50m or more because that's what Chelsea paid for Torres.
Each deal is individual and lots of factors are taken into consideration, age, contract, Importance to club, potential etc.
Judging them compared to another player is just daft.
Ince is only 10 months older than Zaha.
Not exactly a big difference.
Ince has fewer career appearances, 86 to Zaha's 135.
And Ince has scored almost twice as many goals in those 50 fewer games.
