Ruel, probably line up something like this:
Howard
Oviedo, Jagielka, Distin, Baines
Coleman, Osman, Gibson, Barkley
Jelavic, Anichebe
Although Moyes will probably go for Neville and Heitinga instead of Oviedo and Barkley.
Think we will line up similar to the line up against Stoke.
Three central defenders,Baines and Coleman as wingbacks,Gibson,Ossie in the central role Mirallas and Anichebe both playing off Jelavic. If Mirallas isn't fit then I expect Neville to replace him and ossie to play further up
I like Seamus Coleman, he's a decent right winger, didn't he start as a right back?
Yes Coleman started as and still sometimes plays as a RB. Had a good season, not afraid to take people on, good player I agree.
Raw pace and great on the ball, he's not afraid to take people on
Think Moyes will set us out to try and frustrate the players/crowd and hopefully get the crowd on your players backs.
Then if that happens then fingers crossed we sneak a win
Agree with the crowd aspect, showed on Thursday

That tactic does work quite well against Spurs at WHL.

Basel went 100mph on Thursday, pressing from the first 20 mins, we looked nervous and ended up passing around the back line..
I think with the pace taken out of your front line we may look at pressing you further up the pitch.
Compress the game and go from there
I'm trying to think where our pace is in the side today?
Dempsey, Parker, Siggy, Holtby do not hold pace
Out wide we have to push our wide men on
I was at Goodison when Everton beat city 2 0. They were tireless. Pressed and hassled city throughout and thoroughly deserved to beat them. One thing spurs must do today to stand any chance is match them man for man in effort. Including Adebayor.
Can we not recall andros Townsend or is it a season long loan ?
"Compress the game and go from there"
I would be targeting Parker when he is in possession.
The Dembele/Parker combo is slow and deep when it starts MF attacks.
Hounslow, can recall from a Premier League side unless you have a clause, so I understand
Falque on loan, so is a number of other wide men
Even Bentley
"Can we not recall andros Townsend or is it a season long loan ?"
PL loans AFAIK are done to the end of the season or the next transfer window (if not the same time) .
Crazy how we've got no cover for our wide men
Insane mate, can't see the logic, we have so many CM, AM, DM's but out wide we have two first team players
Hope AVB goes for Walker today, it would be an ideal situation, Baines wouldn't be as offensive
"Pressed and hassled city throughout and thoroughly deserved to beat them."
If you recall the game last year, they played a very physical (but fair) game in MF. Perhaps will be less so with no Feilani, but expect similar.
