Almeria lost, Girona drew at Elche. Not bad.
Just 3 points between Alcorcon, Girona and Villarreal for 2nd place.
Alcorcón have really been scraping results recently. I wonder if that's gonna boost their morale or whether they'll just luck out.
How many games are Villarreal unbeaten now?
numancia ...one of my favourite sides
i love soria
They had the nerve to beat Barça in Pep's first-ever Liga game in charge. Think Barça wen't unbeaten for the rest of that year.
Tbh though, I never really liked Numancia that much apart from their first ever season in Primera; playing at Los Pajaritos in winter can be very tough for visiting sides - the pitch gets so frozen it's almost like playing on cement.
soria is spain's coldest provincial capital in winter
i spent many of my childhood summer's in soria province..a little village called calatanazor, where one of my uncles lives..
i love that part of spain
Cool name that, Calatanazor

my uncle was the major of this place for a few years too
After Marcelino's first game in charge, Villarreal have gone 14 unbeaten I believe.
Hmm, looks like we jinxed that run.
Mega game away to Alcorcon next. With Girona home to already-relegated Xerez, this really is a must win to ensure they don't pull too far ahead. A win would also put Villarreal in a strong position with regard to Alcorcon.
Elche are a really good team, maybe we were expecting too much.
We have to beat Alcorcon, but our away form is poor.
We thought earlier that home win, away draw would be good enough. But when you lose at home it now means you need to find those points away to compensate.
Alcorcon have really struggled to get results recently though. They're generally strong at home, but I think the pressure's getting to them. I fancy Villarreal to win.
You around Henrik?
At half time, Girona are 3-1 down at home to (relegated) Xerez!!!
Almería equalised seconds before the break at Lugo. 1-1 there.
Even Cordoba are losing (2-0) vs Sporting.
Things seem to be shaping up nicely for tomorrow's game.
The Lugo-Almería game went crazy in the 2nd half. It finished 3-5 with 8 different scorers!
Girona lost 2-4 at home to Xerez. Cordoba lost 3-0.
Alcorcón 1-3 Villarreal!
77 Elche
67 Girona
65 Villarreal
65 Almería
65 Alcorcón
62 Las Palmas
60 Ponferradina
4 games left.
dont want girona to come up
Nor do I. If I don't recall wrongly, I think Elche, Villarreal and Almería were my Predo League promotion teams.
3 games left- two of which are at home!
Wasn't counting on Almeria getting the win!
We're third now, but it's totally in our hands!
What's the h-2-h with Almeria?
Think we drew with them.
I view one table to see where we are and then view another and it's totally different.
I'd imagine we would be second, because the h-2-h was a draw.
That red card has destroyed our season unless we get a late goal now
Mellberg!
Saved the season
Just see this out now
It's incredibly tight and interesting.
Villarreal are second right now on GD because the h2h is equal, but no matter what happens next week, it won't be decided until the final day. Both Villarreal and Almería will have a chance.
That said, a win away to Barça B would put Villarreal in the best possible position. Regardless of whether Almeria or Villarreal drop points in the next round, a win in the final game would at least bring the team trailing level on points and would tip the h2h in its favour.
However, remember that Girona are still in with a shout too, and they play Almeria away next week! The ideal result there for Villarreal would be a draw, as no matter what, it would mean they'd go up beating Almeria on the final day.
BUT, should Villarreal lose to Barça B, they'd desperately want Almeria to win or at least draw against Girona. That way they'd still depend on themselves: Villarreal have the h2h over Girona, but the gap's only 1 point, so if Girona get 2 points more than Villarreal next week, they'll depend on themselves in their last game against Castilla.
Complicated, or not so much?
It is so tense
I worry more about Barca B than I do the Almeria game
Can't wait until next week
