See what happens when the Manager...

he'll be 33 at the end of his current contract.

Can't read too much into that.

He's still got 2 years left!

I'd say he's probably waiting, like the manager to see what the situation is at the club.

posted on 11/4/13

Yeah he's not going to leave for a bigger/better club at this stage in his career. Maybe he'll go to mls like cahill

posted on 11/4/13

Maybe he and Neville already know moyes is leaving and that's why they are not signing contracts. They want to see if you get in warnock, oneill or Rafa

Neville wasn't offered a new contract so how could he turn one down.Answers on a postcard please Manfrombelmonty (U1705)

With Fellaini no doubt leaving, your captain and most experienced player leaving, your manager and Osman both in doubt, one could forgive the current group of players if they started looking elsewhere.

I can't see Baines going anywhere, he is at that age where clubs wouldn't be willing to pay huge money for him and his worth to Everton is massive. Howard, who's a top keeper will stay. Heitinga, who I rate, has been on the fringes this season and hasn't covered himself in glory and may fancy a move. Distin isn't getting any younger.

I don't see it being a major issue as long as you reinvest any money you receive back into the club.

Who said he turned down a contract??

Not me. I said he didn't sign one, which is accurate.

But it'll certainly be an interesting summer at Goodison to see which direction the club decides to go with the manager and star players

And yet with all this percieved unrest we still sit above our neighbours in the league. Our neighbours who have spent net over £100 million in the last 5 transfer windows have 'World class players 'and have a genius managing them.

Try working that one out.

How desperate have Liverpool supporters become to be wishing ill fortune on their near neighbours so they can have a chance of finishing above them in the near future

Who has wishes ill fortune?

Point it out to me please Mystic Phil.. Or is it Paranoid Phil now?

You have enough ill fortune as it is with your youngsters getting humped by Norwich in the youth cup.

Could've been a merseyside youth final.

Why has this turned bitter?

I personally cant see him leaving, but it shows how the press can run with a story. I like Ossie, he has broken through as Moyes came into the club. I want players like him and Hibbo at the club, they are the life blod of the club....a link to the local community.

Players like Fellaini and Baines would only be moved on if the deal is right for the club ala Arteta, Lescott.

It hasn't turned bitter, I said can't read too much into it, TOOR said you'd be fine with reinvesting any monies received.

It's Phil with his paranoia.

Red, why defend yourself...I never mentioned any name(s)

---------------

Because this Phil chap, instead of looking to take your op, comment on it, and open up a conversation, decides to make comments that have nothing to do with the discussion you're trying to hold.

Most people have responded to your thread and offered something of a reply. Most except for Phil who seems to want to push some sort of agenda.

Shame really. You could've had a decent discussion here

He does however have two years remaining. He should know we only offer 1 year extensions past 30+.

Players over 30 cannot expect to have long contracts full stop.Look at what happened when Rodgers took over at Anfield.Almost every player over 30 was shown the door.If they all had long contracts he would have struggled to get rid of them

How does this add to the discussion?

Neville we know was never offered a contract, why would Neville and Ossie know that Moyes is leaving and why throw managers names like o'neill,Warnock and Rafa into the discussion other than to be on the WUM

I would have Warnock any day of the week

posted on 11/4/13

Ha, I know, warnock was my throwaway bit of banter. Someone like oneill could do a decent job trying to replicate what moyes has done. Who else out there is available though? Not too many spring to mind that have managed at a top level

posted on 11/4/13

You know... Rafa is an interesting one.

I doubt Everton would turn him down. Could he manage Everton? It would certainly suit his family life.

Now I know you are on the wind up. Apart from his time at Leicester, when has he not had money to spend?

I was unaware of that. Thus it's a complete non-issue as he has two years remaining anyhow. Maybe he wants a pay increase due to his international call up? Regardless it means that it's a silly story and doesn't relate to Moyes' situation.

Rada, the fans would finally get a protest worthy of the name against the board

O'neill is a one dimensional manager who's sides as his years as manager has gone on have played progressively worse football.Sunderland style of play under O'neill was only marginally better than Stoke under Pullis
