Yeah Bucharest were causing headaches at half time when they got an away goal which put us in a precarious position
Trying to win in Europe without getting an away goal is a dangerous game
Well we have not performed well yet in Europa so we can definitely lose to them, all I am saying is that imo they are the weakest team left in the competition.........
That does not mean they won't beat us.
How many clean sheets have we had this year ?
looks like 7 in 26 games in all competitions
On paper we have the best side, but as we all know anything can happen in a semi-final.
Weird. If we win this trophy. Torre (and Mata?) will have virtually every trophy worth winning. Only missing a league winners medal
great draw...best we could have hoped for
over-confidence will be our downfall, Basel are no pushovers, they've beaten United and Spurs in the past 18 months
Basle are no push overs because we are not a very good team ourselves.
Decent draw, As long as we dont underestimate them & play to our abilities we should go through. Spurs were without Bale, Defoe,Sandro,Gallas & Lennon yet could easily have got a result. An away scoring draw should set us up ok. To be honest if our team of well paid well known internationals cant get the job done they either need a kick up the ass, selling or maybe they aint as good as we think. That said we were awful defensivly 2nd half in Russia & Basel look like they have far better forwards than the Russians, nice to avoid Benfica & no trip to Turkey is easy these days
The best available draw for us but focus and keeping our eye on the ball will be essential to avoid slipping up and going out through complacency.
Let's just build a healthy lead going into the second leg, rest players manage congestion.
