don't think so

and don't think he'll do it, either

What's this based on

Am his biggest fan but be a mistake to go down that route

never go back should be the philosophy, Beckford may be held in high regard for his history but nowadays he starts from Huddersfield's bench.
The harking back to past glories is why we have had the likes of Gary Mac, Eddie and Billy as managers none of which have really worked.
Players who have returned have never recaptured their past for any club and it is sad to see their legacy watered down.
I would have Milner back in a shot, Snoddy as well, I also think Mattie Kilgallon could do a job in our defense but there are very few other ex-Leeds players I would have return.
BMc's lack of Leeds history means he will have none of the delusions that Leeds fans have about ex-players

posted on 14/4/13

Not for me. I actually think BM will get the best out of Morison. He was poor yesterday, but it doesn't help when you have a few idiots sticking two's up at him and booing him.

I would be after Cameron Jerome if he is available. Maybe a couple of pacey wingers too.

I don't want him back for what he did in the past, more the fact we need a striker and he would be perfect. Beckford is a provden goal scorer, has pace and will love playing for Leeds, all the things we don't have in a striker at the moment. We need a new forward in the summer and I can't see any alternatives to Beckford, unless they go after Rhodes if Blackburn are relegated

Morrison ain't a natural goal scorer, neither is McCormack.

When Somma gets back to full fitnesss, he'll score more than both of'em put together.

Becchio will be recognised as our top goal scorer for season 2012/2013, even though he's not here any more.

posted on 14/4/13

Somma should not be a leeds player next season, he had a good couple of games before getting injured and since then he's hardly played, I recognise what he did for the club but I feel it is time for him to move on.

Just one little problem for Beckford if ever he did come back, he'd be missing his horse!..

I mean he needs someone to pull is cart about, he hasn't found anyone capable enough of doing it since leaving here!..

Funny how people need carthorses these days, maybe someone should bring them back, or is it just us that can't manage without them?.

Why do you rate becchio so highly.

He can't be because you've watched him play, because he was dreadfull this season.

It do you just based your opinion on goals ??

posted on 14/4/13

I loved Beckford but clearly he has not cut it above League 1 level. Had we got relegated then yes but we need players who can get us into the Prem and then stay there. Beckford isnt the answer

Rhodes has scored 26 goals this year for a struggling Blackburn side.

If they go down then he is off the the premiership or QPR.

Funny you ask, I've seen him play, another funny thing is, Beckford scored twice in that game!..

3v1 Brighton!..

A few years back but I did see them "together"!..

Becchio ran all over the place, put in a great shift, and played for all around him!..

Beckford played of Becchio and took the credit like he always did!..

Since Warnock took over seems to be about the time Becchio went of boil, so that suggests to me that the manager had a lot to do with the way he played, funny that, because you invented the hoof ball for him, even though it was used just as much but with less effect since he's gone!..

Becchio is a worker for the whole team, and Beckford was a worker for himself, and sulked when things didn't go his way!..

Question for you and co!..

Why do you not want a goal scorer that more than likely would have had us in the play offs or very close the them now if he'd been kept?..

He might have been a better player yesterday with the new boss, and that might have brought more out of him!..

I think Warnock was the problem not Becchio, but then, some think he was at fault for the whole team!..

So why the whole team and not Becchio?..

Answer that one!..

Ah, and the other goal scorer that day was Becchio!.

Becchio could have got us out of this league, and than any manager could have decided if they wanted him to stay on next year!..

The same as Wilko did with Vinnie, remember, used him for the graft in div 2, than showed him the door in div 1, 2yrs later we won that league, was that because Vinnie helped us to get up there, or because he got shown the door after helping us?..

So your now admitting becchio hasn't played well this season.

Stop and think about this

Why do you think the fans who go, say he's garbage.

He's a likeable, works hard and passionate

So what reason who anyone lie and say he's poor.

He was one of my favourite players, but doesn't mean I know he's not gash.

When you play one ipfront, that striker has to be able to link play up, scoring tap ins and pens isnt enough

That why players like bent, don't play because they offer very little

Becchio has offered very little this season and why he was dropped twice

the 2 i'd like at leeds is beckford & charlie austin, both them up front with mccormack just behind.....who the fook is gonna stop them from rattling a few up ?

posted on 14/4/13

Liw, you are twisting things the way you want them again!..

I don't see where I've admitted anything, so mind games come to mind!..

Tell me, if he's so bad, how did he score so many, does that mean he's bad and our other strikers are worst?..

Or does that mean he's better than your letting on?..

I asked you!..

"Why do you not want a goal scorer that more than likely would have had us in the play offs or very close the them now if he'd been kept?.."

No answer, why not?..

"I think Warnock was the problem not Becchio, but then, some think he was at fault for the whole team!.."

What does that mean, he can have an affect on every player but one?..

Odd that one, the whole team have played crap, but the highest scorer in the team takes the rap!..

People that did not see him as our way out of this league should think "so, I want him out, but who is there to take us forward"!..

Like seen, nobody with who was in charge!..

Snodders, forget not, he went, others said he was our way out of this division, I say a goal scorer is the way out, but than, that's only my opinion, and you don't agree, but like others don't like it when others question!..

The same as when I say Beckford is nothing without him!..

Say what you want about Beckford and his "great goal tally" for Leeds United, he without Becchio at Leeds would have been as normal as you make Becchio out to be, but he would not have brought as much to the team as Becchio did, and that to me makes Becchio a better player then him!..

Everyone can say what they want about anybody at the club, the same as I said Grayson did alright!..

We're now finding on two fronts that some opinions are right and others are wrong, but hey, when those opinions are someone elses than others take a fit!..

With Grayson we might have got in the play offs when Warnock took over, and we might have gone up. something we'll never know eh?..

But at the same time, if Becchio had stayed, we might be in the "play offs",(funny, two times we might have been but we're not,)and people blame Warnock!..

So, who is to blame, Warnock, Becchio or the team?..

The wrong answer will start the next argument, but hey, that's the norm around here isn't it?..

I think yesterday gave an idea as to who is to blame, and I think for the same reason Becchio might have been a better player than he was given the chance to be!..

Grayson is a better manager than Warnock!..

Becchio is a better striker than Beckford!..

But they are only my opinions!.

Beckford would work out if we have a hard working striker up top with him, I think him and Ross would work well, one player I would have no problem us getting back, not like getting a past it striker turned midfielder like Smith.

"Why do you think the fans who go, say he's garbage."

Is that the same fans that sung his name and not other players names in the stadium?..

People can say one thing but when most at the stadium on match days let it be heard, that brings those people down to where they belong!..

The people in the stadium sung his name more than any other player in the team, that means most were greatful to him and his goals!..

Lets have a dig at Smudger, why not?.

posted on 14/4/13

Beckford did score 20 goals in his first full Leeds season partnering Kandol. He did score 34 the next season when partnered with a better player in Becchio, but that sort of progression would be expected. Not to mention in our 2nd season we had a full year of Delph, Kilkenny, Andy Robinson and Snodgrass supplying the forwards.

What are you talking about? Did you actually read what I was saying and the context it was in?

For the last 4 years our fans have been wanting Smith back, it's not for footballing reasons, but because he gave his all for the club and the fans loved him, but he is and has not been the same player since he joined Newcastle and now hardly gets into MK Dons team!!

I'm not having a dig, it's the truth.

posted on 14/4/13

LUFC, looking at the way you wrote what you did, it looks more like a dig but what I was looking at was others coming in on it!.

Sir Ken, funny thing is, Becchio scored 19 in less than a full season in a worst team!..

Oh well, the evidence is there, good some ain't real life judges eh?.

Hence his move to the Premier League!

Becchio gave his all.He also played whilst unwell.Morrison is a waste of space in our team.If he carries on in this form,it's going to be hard to get rid of him.Lots of people on here said it was a good swap. Some of us thought otherwise.Looking at the imput and effect either player has/had in our team.Becchio wins hands down.It was a massive blunder to swap, and that alone shows what sort of donkey Warnock was.Thank god,we now have another manager, and judging by yesterday,it may well be the exact man we needed all along.

I'm prepared to give all the players the benefit of the doubt, including Morison, now that we have McD managing them.

We may be very surprised at what sort of performances they will produce under INTELLIGENT management.

I think Warnock's hairdryer approach wrecked the dressing room.

McD got a championship winning run out of a bunch of pretty mediocre players, with one or two exceptions, when he took Reading up.

Yesterday we came back after going behind to win. That was down to whatever he said at HT and to substitutions. EHD apparently did the biz yesterday after playing without any heart for some time - nothing to do with McD?

I think we have to wait and see. Maybe McD can inspire Morison - I certainly hope he does. Taking Beckford back would be a retrograde step, as much as I appreciated his goals.

I am bitterly disappointed with Warnock's performance. It really does seem like he was Bates's last gasp at a bonanza.

McD is a really exciting prospect. best news we've had in the years we've been out. I'm hoping he will be as good for us as Wilko. He's certainly just as intelligent.
