sizeable chunk of milwall 'supporters'
============
Of over 32,000 fans only 11 were arrested. It really was only a very small section of fans, whose actions were met with loud boos from the rest of Millwall fans who do not want that sort of thing to tarnish every big game for them.

They do obviously attract people who want a ruck to these big occasions but a normal Millwall crowd is far from the 32k they took to Wembley.

I was surprised kick off was in the evening. Millwall fans were drinking from about 11am, so not the best mix of 6 hours drinking and a big football match!

I've been to Millwall a couple of times. Both at the old Den and not for about 25 years. Both times it was a very unpleasant experience. The ground and area were very threatening and intimidating places.
I know the club, to their credit, have tried everything imaginable to improve things and it is probably better now than in the days of terracing but because of their image and reputation they still attract certain bad elements occassionally and from a much wider area.

They have had this reputation for as long as I can remember. I cant see that it will ever go away. The best that can be done sadly is to be ready for the trouble when it occurs and deal with the perpetrators appropriately (and that doesn't mean just ground bans and community service)
