lenny wouldnt take him.......would he!

I wouldnt mind Heskey, hes different from what we have. Will never happen for two reasons, we cant afford him and cant afford his wages.

We ALWAYS get linked with him! I'm surprised we haven't been linked with Stan Collymore again this season, although, I hear Hearts may be in for that fine upstanding citizen...

"Aye a striker that disnae score goals. Just what you need"

Use your brain you clown. He isnt the greatest goal scorer, but I bet you he would bag 15 goals in the SPL. Anyway thats besides my point. We have Hooper and Stokes who will bag 20 goals each, I said he would be good because hes different, a target man. Something we dont have.

Go learn a bit about football then come back to me.

posted on 3/8/11

that's a valid point NoName, but we need a target man that can get over 20 goals a season and isn't in the autumn of his (impressive) career

to be fair, we need a midfield that can put the ball in the net too and we need more goals from set pieces but Heskey isn't for us!

posted on 3/8/11

His stats are crap. The last thing we need is another target man who cannot score.

You are a walloper NoName

Anybody who knows anything about Heskey knows that he is the most useless lump of a striker ever. The English dont rate him one jot. He must be the only guy his size that has never been able to use it to his advantage.

Ask any England fan their opinion of Heskey. Trust me it will begin with "Sh" and end with "ite". He offers nothing to a team. One of the most frustrating players ever in the game. What you expect from him is not what you get. THe guy is a pure confidence player. And rarely does he play with confidence. With OF fans on his back he would fail miserably.

I lived next to Filbert street when the guy was at Leicester and that's the last time he ever kicked a ball.

So yer sanctimonious bloshoi only serves to demonstrate that you have no clue.

John Carew is 100x the player Heskey is. A quality striker who is a REAL handful for defenders. Wld be great signing for the Gers !

Hes been playing in the premier league his whole career, capped over 50 times for England, because YOU reckon the English fans dont rate him he wouldnt be a good signing for us in the SPL?

Captain Daddy Puppy

When I say he wouldnt be that bad I wouldnt want him to be a regular, Im just stating he would be useful for something different, we all know how Lennon loves to chop and change the front line. He would be too dear to use as squad player for us, his wages would be too big. Its never gona happen, just stating he could be useful for us and would score goals in the SPL.

NoName -

Heskey is not the answer.

He was a player back in the day, but he is stinking now.

Don't think just cause he's a big lad he'll be good for us. Look at Daryl Murphy.

We don't need a big lump of a striker. We need a GOOD striker.
If he's big, then great. But if he isnt then it doesnt matter.

Yes he'd score goals in the SPL for Celtic. But so would I.

Pie

Come hes better than Murphy!

Heskey was always a stinky

The bloke gets injured running for the bus.

Would be a disastrous signing.

I agree with no name. I wouldn't mind Heskey at CP, but i dont think we could pay the wages for the guy.

62 England caps over a nine year period. Spells with EPL clubs like Villa, Liverpool and Birmingham, and 150 career goals mainly in the best league in the world testify to the fact this guy has had a fantastic career at the very top of the game. Some people might not rate him but a heck of a lot of top managers such as Gerrard Houllier, Sven Goran Erickson, Martin O'Neil and Fabio Capello have, and I know who's opinion of the player I would trust. Wrong side of 33, so I think Celtic will pass.

Exactly?

You were saying he'd do a job for us?

He's awful these days. WELL past his best. He was a very good player, 5 years ago. He isn't one of these players who could "still do a job". I'm sure Larsson could still do a job for a few teams. But Heskey should be playing 5 a sides these days.

posted on 3/8/11

If you want something different Carew is way way better than Hesky. But I'd be happy to see u sigh Heskey.

Houllier and Eriksson? Houllier has been a shambles of a manager for every team he's managed in the EPL. His name is mud In Merseyside. And Ericsson, half of Manchester couldn't wait to get shot and England breathed a sigh of relief when he left the National team. Some of you guys seem to think that just because you've played in the EPL it makes you good. There have been and still are just as many duds there as there are elsewhere. When Houllier was in charge of Liverpool he spent over £100m during his tenure. And all were manure djimi traore ffs, salic diaou, Bruno cheyrou, titan camera, Peggy arphexad, Igor biscan.sold brad friedel ffs. And you rate him as a top manager Iam7. Get grip ffs. My old man is from Liverpool and having lived in Manchester for over a decade I used to listen to Century Fm everyday when all that would call is scourges lambasting the waster. They couldn't wait to see th back and that includes ex players like phil Thomson. So spare me the guff. And the fact he signed Heskey just sums it all up. Oh yeah and not to forget the genius of selling Anelka!

Every manager signs players who don't work out. You only need to look at Walter Smith to see some of the complete donkeys he has signed, it happens. You don't like Gerrard Houllier then I give you Raphael Bennitez, you don't like Errikson then I give you Steve McLaren. All these guys have the same thing in common, they all chose to play Heskey in their teams.

My old man's from Liverpool and I used to listen to CenturyFM

I still trust the opinions of multiple professional managers, and over 60 England caps than all the hot shot phone in mouth pieces you ever listened to.

posted on 3/8/11

Well the mouthpieces on Century fm ere actually ex footballers. Phil Thomson grain sharpe and mickey Adams. I think their opinion is a bit more believable than yours. Added to the deluge of unhappy scousers and constant 5 year plan after 5 year plan rolled out by Houllier he was a dud. Indeed all the mangers u cite have been dreadful.
