Agreed, he will get a great reception. He was sacked by a pair of clowns.
During the game everyone will be behind the team and won't care too much. If we're winning and a few minutes left there'll be a rendition or two of Rafa, Rafael, followed by "one Brendan Rodgers" and then YNWA.
He will be clapped off the park. Think we will win.
It will be emotional that's for sure, seeing Rafa in the opposition dugout.
I love Rafa and if I didnt have so much confidence in Rodgers as I do I would have Rafa back at Liverpool FC in May.
Think we will win if we score early and not have another missed chances fest.
The tempo and passing will hurt Chelsea and can see us winning 2 or 3-1. But you never know.
Hope we sing Rafa's name but support Brendan too.
You wont get many grounds with such an odd scenario this weekend where the opposition manager is loved, possibly more at the moment, than the home manager.
Respect Rafa but after the recent comments hes making, I just smell some desperation, Rodgers has my full support. I have faith he will take us back to where we need to be.
I hope he gets a warm welcome, afterall the club fell out of love with him not him with the club.

No, it didn't.
1) I think he'd have got a pretty good reception anyway but after the abuse he's received from Chelsea fans I think he'll get a tremendous reception from us.
2) We can but I'm not confident. In some ways a tough game against a top team can be good for a side going through a rough patch - drags them out of it because there is just no room for complacency.
3) I'd have Sturridge in but central as well, Suarez and Cout buzzing around either side. Lucas, SG & Henderson in midfield, usual defence.
Rafa will get a good reception I'm sure.
I'm more concerned about the arsenal falling out of our season, with it looking increasingly unlikely that we can catch any of the teams above us.
I think we have a chance against Chelsea. The way both teams play should mean it should be a good game. Two passing teams who lack a bit of steel and solidity. To get a result will have to mean that the teams finishing will have to improve. If we again fail to take our chances then we could struggle.
Another source of concern is the team's mentality. Chelsea have something to play for (top 4 and Europa League) where we have very little.
on paper we should lose
so I propose not playing the match on paper
Rafa
How weird is it going to feel? Up against a ream managed by Rafa Benitez, with Torres, Benayoun in the team.
Rafa will get a great welcome, he's been wumming the Chelsea fans which has been great to witness and of course we have much to be grateful for as far as what he did for the club is concerned.
I think we have a good chance of winning the game, but I fancy Torres may well get his first goal against us too.
I would stick to the same team as the one that started against Reading and hope they can put the chances away that will enivitably come.
Just like Houlier give him an applause before the game with the odd song but when the game starts we should only be singing about one manager and that's BR.

It'll feel odd but not nearly as strange as Kenny back as Blackburn/Newcastle manager!
Or Rushy in a Leeds kit - that still just looks wrong!
If the stadium was FULL of Twitter LFC fans then they would want to swap the managers pre kick off.
The Liverpool fans who attend games aren't so fickle but we should never forget the great times he brought, especially in Europe.
When we used to be a Champions League side.
It will be interesting to see if Torres scores, will he celebrate?
I don't think he will, but i'm not 100% sure on that.
I wish he'd stayed.

Ok if you want to be childish , the board out with him.
It wasn't childish, it was factual.

True enough, the board at the time had no interest in the football club beyond trying to make themselves rich and some of the board trying to play football manager.
They didnt represent the stakeholders of the club at all.

Or possibly pedantic??
As I'm sure you knew what i was getting at!!
When we used to be a Champions League side.
===================
In fairness he joined us as a champions league side. A side that finished 2nd in the EPL a 3 years before. Not doing down his achievements but he didn't exactly drag us up by our bootstraps.
Sadly BR has a more difficult job.
1. Of course he will get a great reception. It's not even up for debate really.
2. I think we will win. Chelsea are dangerous obviously but they don't defend particularly well and the fact that we have little to play for doesn't really matter. The players know Chelsea is always a big game, so will perform, and Chelsea have had a fixture nightmare this season and are feeling it. We have a free week to prepare, they have had to play two games since we last played.
3. Sturridge has to start as a goal against Chelsea is exactly what he needs. The way to beat Chelsea is to get at them, so all out attack for me. They will probably score but we will score more.
He should and will get a great reception but once the game starts that's it, we should support our manager and our team!
Feel really confident, good record over Chelsea recently and I can see us winning!
I'd go with Sturridge, he's going to have something to prove to the chávs and I think he'll be up for it!
Hope Torres gets a dogs life as per usual!
