Yeah the evil Warnock got rid of the great Adam Clayton so now he's gone he can come back and be amazing again.
I thought the general feeling was that he was ok at times but most weren't that bothered to see him go?
Blew hot and cold
Just another player
We have moved on
On his day fab, but inconsistent.

Green and Austin are ok by me need to invest in some quality to go with them
Even though Clayton has said numerous times he doesn't hold any grudge against Leeds - you still get the feeling deep down he really does
For me is no better than Green
With a proper manager in charge of him, as opposed to the dinosaur, he would be really good and would be our best midfielder.
I would love him back.

Started the season very well, although maybe part of that was we didn't expect him to be that good. Then was average for the rest of the season.
I remember him and Howson playing CM for us, people would rave about him because he'd jump into tackles and score long rangers, but slate Howson even though he was the better player, who rarely gave away possession.
Now Howson's in the Prem and Clayton's at Huddersfield. Average player.
I don't believe he would strengthen the squad at all, and we should only be considering players who would strengthen the squad.
Some have short memories on here. Clayton was an OK midfielder and at times (not often enough) could be a really great player. Very inconsistent and I thought it was time to let him go and agreed with that decision at the time because he had not performed last season often enough. Time to move forward gentlemen and that means bringing in players who are bettter quality than what we've had in the last few seasons with a few exceptions including Gradel, Snodgrass and McCormack etc.
Let's aim for autos this time and for that we need consistent performers. If we can get them, and thats not easy, then we have a shot next season, if not then build improving one player at a time as we go.
Warnock obviously had reason not to want him. Me personally if Mcdermott thought he could add something and brought him back then I wouldn't have a problem, but I trust the judgement of Brian either way
While he's at it, do you think McDermott would be able to lure Beckford back too?
League One will suit him by the sounds of his performances from there fans.
I liked Clayton but not sure it would happen.
neither Beckford who has priced himself out of the market for next season presently on 40k a week can you believe and Clayton wont have gone cheap to Town so lets look elsewhere
