It was a complete mess and im not convinced rafa is soley to blame, i mean that keane business he clearly did not want keane, later came out he wanted stevan jovetic.

on the other hand we know for sure rafa wanted barry (lol) to replace alonso...

I rate aqua he can certainly pass as well as xabi anyway, was younger i think and cost 16m less then was we sold xabi for so did not seem too bad. Did not do as bad as some think to say he just recovered from a year long injury.

Rafa was offered when selling Alonso from Madrid a pick from Snieder, Robben and Van Dar Vaart as well as the likes of Gago and Marcelo but Rafa being Rafa decided he would pay upto 16 or 17M on a injured Italian.

Robbing it is the truth. In that same season Madrid took Alonso they sold Robben to Bayern for 18M and Snieder to Inter for 15M but when we were barganing the final price with Real they offered numerous Madrid players that were surplus to requirements but Rafa wanted the injured Italian.

I'm a bit fed up with this H&G, Rafa tripe. What's done is done and whether it's their fault or Hodgson's fault or Moores' fault - I don't give a flying fiddlers.

It's now a clean slate. New owners, new manager and money to spend. Let's look forward to what this season has to offer.

Have you, at any point, taken into consideration what the players wanted to do. Do you know what wages Inter paid him and why he would have to cut his wages to join Utd. Do you think Robben, after wanting to leave London and the Premier league then wanted to come to us? DO YOU? FFS - go back to school.

Sneijder went to Inter because they offered him £180K a week.

Have I actually said that the players wanted to join? Those would have lead to seperate negotiations with no gurantee but the fact remains they were offered to Rafa but he declined any chance cos he was fixated with Aqualani who he paid more for than Snieder. Also when Snieder first signed for Inter he was not on astronomical wages, it was only after the success that Inter offered him better terms.

"Sneijder went to Inter because they offered him £180K a week"

Not true, he was told by Madrid that he is not in there first team plans and he went to Inter with no galactico tag. He was not even a proven world class player then so how would he get 180k a week? Not sure where you made that figure from and even Manchs U who want to buy him will not offer those wages.

I'm sorry to go on but you actually do not know what you're talking about.

Where did you get this info? Where is your source?

The actual reason we bought Aqua, and this true, is because H&G would not release the money from the Alonso transfer in one go. As such Rafa had to buy quality but in installments - this is well documented.

He therefore had to buy a proven International player on finance. You do not get your world class players, the ones you mention, by paying in instalments as the clubs want to replace the player.

Nooooooo!

Not the the ABBA debacle

It was in a quoted article a few months back.

Rafa wanted Barry + Keane but Barry was the priority and the key to the partnership. If he could get Barry and his left foot, then he wanted both. If he couldn't get Barry the strategy was a bust.

So the geniuses in charge bought Keane and didn't bother with Barry.

As said above it's all in the past and we're moving forward. Happy days.

Proof that any of these players were 'offered' to us please?

Just because these players were sold during the same window does not mean that they would have been offered to us as part of the deal.

Anyway Robben is far too injury prone, Van der Vaart will get found out this season as he was towards the end of last season. As for Sneijder, yes cracking player but I very much doubt they would have renegotiated a new contract that still had time to run so quickly as it would make no financial sense.

You have just linked sources that have absolutely no credibility at all! FAIL

Also the one from goal states that we asked for him to be included. So EPIC FAIL

Do you have any sources that are not written by fans. You know, by professionals, or from the clubs, or from the players, or from Rafa?

Lets see what other stories are on those sites:

Ronaldo is going back to Utd

Some stuff on Shakira

and an animated version of Rooney's bicycle kick.

ha credible sources please?

posted on 3/8/11

Robbing i agree there are credible as the Metro link you posted but i remember at the time all this players exchange talk came from sky sources.

I guess you must one of those "In Rafa We STILL trust" types who does not like it when the ugly truth comes out about him hence your childish remarks at times but its okay.

Would it not have been easier to write:

"Actually Robbing, you're right, I could not one single credible source what so ever"?

Still amazed with people blaming Rafa and refusing to accept the transfer policy for our downturn.

Rafa would have excelled under the current policy.

Robbing I gave you the sources and you didnt like them so that's your problem. Like I said it was as credible as your Metro rubbish you posted.

As much as I like Rafa, working in conjunction with Camolli would be a recipe for more in fighting. Working with others was never Rafa's strongest suit. His time at Valencia and Inter illustrates that.

Alonso/Benitez/Barry/Aquilani = ABBA fiasco.

When will it ever end
