I can't disagree with much of that Albi. I'm going to be pulling apart the numbers at the end of the season anyway (not sure yet exactly how but we'll see).
My observations would be that with the exception of Bournemouth, who won their eighth game on the bounce yesterday, no team has really showed consistency. Yesterday, on paper you'd have had all of the automatic promotion candidates winning. Apply your knowledge of this season and most likely at least one would mess up.
In the event 3 / 4 messed up. Predictably, only Bournemouth didn't. So, next week Bournemouth will be crowned champions. Either us or Brentford will join them. Neither will deserve it any more than the other and the play-offs are anyone's
Disappointing thing as well was how many people where at the stadium to watch that display yesterday, playing in to all the doubters hands!!
Unfortunately if we don't get a win or draw next week then i don't think we deserve to go up cause with the amount of chances we have had to pull away and open a gap is beyond believe and they never managed to do it.
let's hope Brentford struggle next week with our amazing away form !! (I went to Bury) RTID
Good point Mavrick. I was lucky insofar as when I used my five ST freebies it was to the Tranmere match, when we played well and won, so I may have converted some doubters. Yesterday it wasn't a game to remember for the uncommitted. A lost opportunity to boost next year's gate.
Good luck to you next week, the more Yorkshire clubs in the Championship the better ! Of course we have to be safe first ! The Championship this year is unbeleivable , you went down with 36, Coventry & Pompey went down with 40, we have 54 points and still not safe !!
Thanks WT and good luck to you - my nephew is a terrier.
And your web friend is a "HOUND".
Talk about blowing it yesterday chaps!
It's been an strange season in lots of ways. It seems that we have never really played well apart from one or two games but at the start of the season, I thought we'd finish mid table so I have to be delighted with what the team has achieved. Let's hope that the amazing away form continues next week at Brentford! It would be a mighty achievement to get back to the Championship at the first attempt.
If you blow it on Saturday, i think you will be devastated & Sheff U may do you, how has boom boom mcoombe been for you this year? Finally which horse's teeth has your chairman borrowed?
The horse that was never found in Ireland
We blew automatic promotion in 2008 Terrier, but then thrashed Southend in the Play off Semi-Final before beating Leeds at Wembley. However, this is a different set of players so who knows? - but they're experienced and have shown fight and determination this season so hopefully they will be professional and do themselves justice if it comes to that.
McCombe has done pretty well. He looked very shaky at the start of the season and I thought that he may be a weak link but he has got better and better as the season has progressed.
We know all about play off drama!
Not that we will need to know this stuff about play-offs.....but
First tie Fri 03/05/2013 at 19.45 then Mon 06/05/2013 at 13.45.
Second tie Fri 03/05/2013 at 17.20 then Mon 06/05/2013 at 16.30
Final (Wembley) Sun 19/05/2013 at 13.30.
What are the pairings please.
The folllowing site (a Yeovil one) http://www.ciderspace.co.uk/ASP/news/news.asp?NewsItemId=19366) suggests that there is more detail available about who will play when, but there is a complication relating to Sheffield United who might be scheduled to play on the same date as Wednesday have a match causing policing pressures.
I think there is a race meeting in Doncaster on the Saturday too, but as Rovers would be 3rd in the highly unlikely event of particaption, they would not be involved at home on either of the first 2 dates.
(I think we had to play away in the 2nd leg of he Conference Play-off because of a race meeting.)
Thank you for that info... Can anyone tell me who the fourth member of the panel is on photo of Season Ticket Holder's meet with the Club (The man with the beard) please?
I was wondering about that too ionly. Possibly someone from Lindley Catering - the people responsible for developing the concourses? Just a guess though. Did anyone on here attend the event?
