So, Armand Traore?

I personally would like a top LB myself, but they don't grow on trees....

How about the LB for Parma?

Traore seems a safer bet than Gibbs right now but it's very hard to say. Obviously Traore is French and it'll annoy some who see him pushing out the English lad but I agree with you.

It looks like Gibbs/Traore is our LB combo for the upcoming season. In all honesty we should really buy another LB as I don't think either are up to it yet - both are converted wingers who are, unsurprisingly, good going forward but defensively frail - but it doesn't look like we will and I would rather AW focuses his energies on getting a CB.

Traore is strong, fast and good going forward, but prone to defensive lapses. He's a bit like a quicker Glenn Johnson IMO.

I've followed Arsenal for a long, long, long, long, long, long time now and so who do I think would be better played at left back between Gibbs and Traore..?

I have no idea.

We should hijack Liverpool's bid for Enrique, come on Wenger do it!!

another reason why we wont win anything. We lost clichy who was solid & expect to replace him with Traore who shouldve been sold to benfica last season. But no we loan him to juve, who didnt rate him & he was unconvincing in a very defensive league.

I thought wenger called us a big club, well big clubs sign big players to replace others not this over reliance on youth.

Not sure why your article deserved a one star? Here I will give you 5 whole stars to balance it up a bit.

What's most telling here is, after the huge disappointment that was Clichy's stint at Arsenal, none of us are currently overflowing with anticipation regards his likely successor.

Traore and Gibbs are both pacy and decent going forward but defensively naïve and have the positional awareness of Stevie Wonder.

Traore is only still at the club as Juve refused to meet his wage demands. Both are the archetypical AW player, technically sound, quick but poor without the ball.

As AW has stated that Gibbs will be first choice and Traore back up, expect the same sort of defensive blunders our defensive is fast becoming famed for to continue.

Lexington: If you are a VU fan, in all probability, you are in an age bracket to have followed Arsenal for a long time

when it comes to our defence wenger shouldnt be allowed anywhere near it. This includes signings & training as he has NFI.

Yay!!

Also, it is ironic that during last season nobody wanted Clichy for Arsenal, nearly EVERYBODY wanted Gibbs to be given his chance.

How the tide has turned....

Probably based on Gibbs' 2009-10 appearances as opposed to his jaunts around the pitch last season.
