Becchio ?

Beckfords move to Everton was a great move for the him.

Am pretty sure becchio thought he'd go there and get into the team.

But anyone who's watched him this season, knew he'd be found out straight away.

Anyone who signs him in the champ are in for a shock.

Beckford scored around 12 goals, being in and out the team after moving up 2 divisions. He did well as got shafted by Everton.

Becchio is a league one player.

Is he even making the reserve team?

For the grand national maybe

Harsh. Not the greatest centre forward I've seen at Elland Road and certainly not as good as he was before his injury.

That said, he was able to put the ball in the back of the net more than anyone else this season and losing him effectively condemned Leeds United to a fight against relegation.

It was written somewhere else and is backed up with the various media coverage, Warnock wanted Becchio out and his own man in. His blind stupidity cost us dear. We should have kept him until the end of the season or, at the very worst, sold him but then retained him on loan.

We can't afford him as I suspect his wages will be beyond our budget.

Morison has yet to impress although I concede he may improve. From what I've seen thus far, Becchio was better by a country mile.

Hoof ball suited becchio

Get the feeling he'll end up onloan in champ.

Would like to see Beckford come back where he belongs next season. We need players who will drag the fans back, he could be that player.

And so did various other styles, he scored before Warnock arrived.

Max Gradel is the only player who do that IMO

Remember we had Gradel, Howson, Snoddy and Becchio who all started the 2011/12 season, but protests still occurred before the Boro game (poor attendance), because we didn't have enough to compliment them. So for me we need a proper rebuild and to feel that we have a good chance of achieving success before consistent crowds turn up again.

Disagree. Get the team playing football in a positive fashion, scoring goals and playing with some pride. That will bring the crowds back. Hoofball with little success and the off-the-field farce has got Leeds United to where it is now.

GFH needs to stand up, install some leadership off the pitch and back McDermott on it. We don't need so-called stars. We need to bring on the better elements of our youth and find some gems like Snodgrass in the lower leagues or Scotland/Ireland like we used to.

No more players looking for a final pay day at the expense of Leeds United.

It's what we started with under Revie and that seemed to work......

Agree completely Stevie.

The board need to sell tickets in the short term though, or we won't get any decent players, down to the fans just as much to buy a season ticket and help get this club back up.

I understand your point but there's a distinct lack of goodwill between club and supporters due to what's been going on under both Bates and GFH.

The supporters paid through the nose because Bates was suggesting without it we wouldn't reach the promised land. Hoodwinked the lot of us!

Cheaper tickets aren't the only answer to our woes. This is a business. Buy tickets and we invest is nothing more than blackmail and we've been there before.

I accept GFH see this as nothing more than an investment. To be successful they have to make money. Well, as the old business adage goes "you have to speculate to accumulate".

It doesn't have to be unrealistic. With the number of players coming out of contract across all the leagues I suspect McDermott would only need around £2 million to rebuild and do so positively.

They invest, we play good football and start to show signs of progress and the crowds will return.

I think I remember someone on here saying that the Becchio / Morison deal ended up being a lose lose situation for all parties. I tend to agree. No one's come out of jumping for joy. El Carthorse - Championship or league 1 next season.

A player who can't control the ball within 5 feet of himself and pass (positively) to a team mate was never going to make it in the premiership.

I liked the guy and he did a lot for the club but he did my head in a lot.

Enough about Bendtner, what about Becchio?

I think Morison has offered more as a team player since joining even though you can tell hes carried a knock and once he's spent 60 minutes getting no service he throws teddy outta pram.

but I'm hoping he will come good, saying that I have been hoping that about Norris all season but he has been a major let down

Only so long the fans can blame Bates, the damage is done regarding trust of ownership and the board, but nothing GHF can do about what Bates did, our fans always complain and rightly so, but as a one club city and football community, we should have enough support to fill Elland Road now Bates has moved on. It's the only way we will move forward, no one is going to give us a hand out.

If the no show fans want top players, the only way is to go to the game, 16-22k a week next season and we will rot, most the revenue for clubs in the championship comes from the gates.

I'm not saying people should forget what has happened in the last few years, but there is no point in pressuring the board to buy when they wont even go to Elland Road.

We have no chance getting players like Gradel at the moment.

"It's what we started with under Revie and that seemed to work....."

Its probably harder than it was in his day to keep a good young team together (greedy agents, loadsamoney clubs at the top of the Prem, foreign players here for the cash only etc etc.....)

But your comment hits the nail firmly on the head for me, as to why I am so p'd off we sold anyone who was any good, starting with Delph and then all the others anyone can list straight off. Were they all top of the prem superstars? No, but if we had kept the core together and added to it we would have both a tidy squad and a squad with some commitment to the - it was not necessary, it was done by people with very different long term objectives to those of us who actually support Leeds
