People forget just how good he was for us last season, controlled the game perfectly.

--------

he controlled some games.

in other games he went missing totally (all be it with the rest of the team)

chelsea 5 - 1 spurs sticks out in the memory.

Every player has bad games, why does Modric have to be different? He is no doubt a top talent that would improve any team in this league.

And performs in the big games.

i miss him....he was a joy too watch....and this yrs team...we get too the 18yrd line...then all to often look bereft of ideas...

we flowed better as a team with modders in there...

modric was a good player. people putting him on some kind of pedestal is laughable though... he was just as diabolical in the run in of the last two seasons as the rest of the side...

surely a top player should be stepping up at that kind of time....... (look at Bale this season run-in for the contrast)

You all seem to be forgetting that Modric played every game during our huge slump with Harry...

He bearly performed for 14 games... As for the "he was a joy too watch....and this yrs team...we get too the 18yrd line...then all to often look bereft of ideas...", this was no different last season.

not for me....thats was happening on that last run in...not the whole season...

and that in part can be blamed on running legs into the ground.....

i'm not that surprised we've not had a pen this season....as we don't get in the box enough...

modric was woeful during the last season run in... until the bolton away game when he scored that screamer. by then it was too late though really.

Which can also be said this season...

I went to pretty much every game last year, some games were awful to watch...

yup. same here.

wanted to put pins in my eyes at times

Modric was never a match-winner, he was our heartbeat.

I think it's unfair to put any blame on him for a shocking run of results that was more down to our strikers and the manager being elsewhere.

I'm just happy we didn't sell to Chelsea

some yeah.....im not not saying we turned it on every game...as some this yr have been shocking also....

seems to me we forget all too quickly how good players/gaffers were for us....

and id say on the whole...we've been far less exciting to watch than last season...

you still havent explained how Kaka is over-rated using 'that logic'

-----------------------

Was not saying Kaka was over-rated. I was saying the opposite.

Just because he was not good at real (due to circumstance) does not make him over-rated. Same goes for Modric.

Probably on par with last season, but, Arsenal, City, Inter, United (H&A), we were brilliant.

Losing Sandro, Lennon for large periods, ADEBAYOR being sheeeeet and Defoe being out, it's hardly suprising

Modric is a great player for a club like spurs, but not Madrid level, hence how much time he has had on the bench.

Would happily take him back but given the option would prefer Moutinho.

Disagree Bale me out, he just doesnt suit Mou's style too well. Modric's best position is where Mourinho prefers to have the more defensive minded midfielders.

Looking back now i think we should of took the 40 million from Chelsea as i think we would of then ended up with hazard

S Mouse.. have to replace BAE in that position if we want to win the title

why worry, he's finished

"Looking back now i think we should of took the 40 million from Chelsea as i think we would of then ended up with hazard"

1. Hazard was not touting himself about to the PL in summer 2011.

2. The money would have been spent elsewhere (possibly a full transfer for Adebayor etc) .
