But he cannot finish like Villa. That's the point.

Bats.

The reason for sales in the past has always been to cover the gap in our commercial finances that equates to about £15m.The new sponsorships should take care of that. So I believe it when Gazidis suggested very recently that we now don't have to sell to buy.

Therefore we only need to sell for footballing reasons. I don't see a position for Vermalean in the team. Every time he has come into the team he has looked very wobbly. Now he is far too good and young to sit on the bench. So he should leave and the money invested in to bring in someone who is very good in the dressing room. Ashley Willams fits that in my opinion. We also need to replace Djourou with a younger prospect. Kos is not for sale. He is our best defensive prospect since Kolo. No way we can allow him to leave.

The right back situation is a mystery. Sagna wants a multi-year deal that I don't think Wenger will give him. In my opinion Sagna has lost pace and that is quite devastating in his position. Now unless Wenger accepts him as cover for centre back? I agree Jenkinson is not ready thats why I expect a Monreal type signing.

My fear is that Arsene will not buy a high tempo, stamina midfield player to replace Arteta because he is still protecting Ramsey. Ramsey and Wilshere are very similar and I am not sure how Arsene will play them both in the future.

Its Jovetic AND David Villa.

Not Jovetic or Villa.

We can do better than Villa, though. Hell, I'd have Chicharito as an option over Villa. I'm pretty convinced Villa will flop here with the way he's played since his layoff.

This is indeed the point.

Highly unlikely IMO.

Arsenal NEED someone who is a nailed on finisher, who has pace, intelligence, is mobile, ideally good looking and someone who fits the Arsenal system.

Now I do think IF Jovetic does sign for Arsenal, Wenger will play him through the middle and coach him 'on the job' into being a Premier League striker. I'm speculating, but bare with me; I just think Arsenal crave someone to hit the ground running pretty much. Jovetic as a forward at AFC is good science to me, but in this ideal world I live in, I would like an experienced, hungry, proven striker. I'd take Villa, but that's my preference. I don't see too many other players with anything like that experience or ability who are in any way 'realistic' targets!

Why?

Jovetic is rated at ~£18m.

David Villa at £5m.

Why not both?

Chamakh, Bendtner, Park, Arshavin will be gone in the summer. Podolski very likely to go as well.

==============================
Based on what exactly? The fact he's carrying an injury? No way would Wenger sell Podolski after his return this season anyway, and when was the last time he got rid of a relatively big money signing after one season. Absolutely no way he's going.

Well said Moist!

There is no way we will sign both, you should know by now that Arsenal do the bare minimum as far as bringing in new players goes. Wenger will still have faith in Giroud and add a back up for him (come on don't kid yourself, you know this).

Podolski will not be sold either, why would this happen? You can't change the team so drastically each season!

you're just too good to be true

Based on the fact that any self-respecting International player cannot accept sitting on the bench. If he wants to play for Germany he will go.

Mert, Park, Arteta, Santos, Gervinho, Podolski, Giroud, Cazrola, Monreal. In just two years.

I expect better quality now that we have sponsorship and TV money. Wenger's contract in 2014 and fanbase turning against Kroenke.

The more i watch Fiorentina....and the more i watch him play. The less i want him. Jovetic Decent, he is not really the clinical finishing type either, has decent flair and is a good dribbler. We need more. If we are going to spend 20 plus mil on a forward , who can't even play up top on his own. Plus he is injury prone and that has cost them some points, eventhough they have reasonable depth.

He is a beast on Fifa. I guess that is why everyone rates him. If we sign him. I hope he proves me wrong.
