Bilbo done good, but we all know that means nothing the morning after. Cruel business. If he doesn't get the chance to carry on I hope he at least gets the Freedom of Doncaster.
BF played a major role in the squad from day one of the Saunders reign. When he took over the performance of the team improved. He then went on and brought in Lunstrum and Furman which was a fantastic move. It was BF who got us in the top position.
That is why I think BF should get the job and I have said that since that Stevenage performance.
I hope JR does not make the mistake of putting Warnock in but I fear that he will.
OK BF doesn't talk the talk but he has proved to me that he deserves the chance to manage in the Championship.
My hope is that BF gets the job, we survive in the Championship and we build a youth system second to none.
The future is bright just choose the right man JR.
Agree with what you've said Alex, but I don't think BF is the right man for the championship!
He deserves a chance at it, but I'm just not convinced by him.
Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think he's real manager material, but I will forever be grateful to him for yesterday and the smile on my face today! (Never mind the pounding feeling in my head )
Does anyone think it was strange how cooly SW walked away from the weeds job ... as though he had another job lined up during the close season?
NW is really looking for a Director of Football role, rather than management - but I wouldn't be surprised if he has something lined up. Perhaps linking Warnock with a young, up and coming manager may be an interesting move, but maybe he would be looking for a bigger club? maybe Sheff U?
I thought BF's body language yesterday showed his uncertainty - he has done all that was asked of him and yet he has no idea whether he will get the job full time - He seemed to feel unable to celebrate fully with the team yesterday and JR this morning played a very straight bat when asked whether BF would get the job full time. I am sure the owners will want to see who may be interested in the job now we have been promoted - so a tough time for BF - he'll probably have to apply for the job all over again.
NW could be looking elsewhere for thar Director of Football at Donny, it could be already taken.
DR4E,
May be I am a softy when it comes to a person getting my loyalty but in BF his only weakness his lack of dynamic talk, now where have I said that before?
If I was to hear NW and BF talk football for the first time I too would probably go for NW. But the proof is in the pudding BF took over and proved he could not only do the job he pulled in two key players to achieve success.
All that glitters is not gold as Wolves have found out.
JR GIVE BF THE JOB HE HAS EARNED IT.
Flynn has contacts with all the big clubs.
If he can get us one or two players like Lundstram on loan that would make a difference to the squad for next season.
When BF took over we were second, if we had finished third or worse he would have got slated.
He took us to the top and we played good football in getting there.
With a new pitch next season and a few improvements to the squad what is to say we cant give a good account of ourselves?
I have a feeling however that JR may consider bringing in a "bigger"name and ask BF to revert back to the role he was doing for Saunders.
My understanding is that BF prefers that role.
OK,
I have looked at all the replays of the penalty decision a 1000 times and I come to the conclusion the ref gave it for dangerous play, Mc's foot made contact with the Brentford players head.
Just for the record can anyone shed any light on that great decision?
It looked like hand ball from our end but dangerous play from the Brentford end.
Alex, I agree BF did/has done nothing wrong, I'm just not convinced he's manager material. Don't know what it is about him, he's done well for us. I'm just not convinced.
I too have watched the penalty decision numerous times, I still have no idea what it's awarded for, but without it, we would probably not have been champions, so, if I'm honest, I couldn't care less what he gave it for!!!
Its just for the record really. I have emailed the Ref's association for the correct decision and awaiting a reply.
I think the most accurate position is the camera from the Brentford end which I think shows Mc's arm no where near the ball but his foot makes contact with the Brentford players head who then plays dead but I am still not sure.
It proves to be the first penalty I am now happy it was given against Donny, what a day it was!
It was never a penalty in 2013 years, as for the handball also no penalty, they happen all the time but, the spot kick that was given???? The Rovers player was entitled to go for the high ball, the 4 Brentford players inc the one who dived were within about 4 square feet of each other, the three remaining standing were on that ref like a swarm of Bees(no pun) but at their end and after not giving a possible handball, he had given it...Even the BBC Commentator could not believe it. No penalty and Justice was seen to be done, just watched BBC News (Sport page) Around the Leagues, they are still biased towards Brentford But I did say last week that they would be given a penalty in extra time. That and the result are now HISTORY.

Did anybody miss the League One drama at Griffin Park on Saturday?
You can watch 'that penalty miss' on the BBC Football page. Brentford fans might choose not to.
It still makes great viewing for us Donny fans!

The bbc sport website is currently showing a great video(if you are a Rovers fan) of the incident with a slight bias towards Brentford.
