weare. i agree with that boss.

i would like to send carroll to a footballing prem side, and keep pritchard in our development squad for at least half a season, then maybe send him off to a football playing championship side.

Because they have to learn to deal with the melee of playing with the big boys. Literally in the case of Carroll and Pritchard. The loan clubs are playing a style of football Spurs are happy with. When that is not the case, they are recalled (re Luongo at Ipswich when McCarthy took over) .

Next season we are potentially looking at Posh/Millwall/Swindon/QPR being in the league below and acting as loan clubs.

"I would like to see Carrol loaned out to another Premier League side"

My instinct tells me Villa (if they survive) .

So what age do we think these players should be brought into the squad then ? rooney was 18 when he broke through so is it how good you are or how old you are, i guess different players develope at a different rate and rooney was a bruiser even at 18

rooney was about two classes above what carroll is now, let alone what he was at 18

"rooney was 18 when he broke through so is it how good you are or how old you are"

Technical ability.
Physical ability to withstand the rigours of the senior game.
Mental maturity.

When the kids have the right combination of the above, then on paper they are ready for squad duty. If there is insufficient game time available for them, then they must be loaned out according to their level.

If Luongo was deemed ready for the seniors, I'd be tempted to let Parker go.

Hudd has given me a bit of hope that there is still at least a squad place for him.

You all seem very confident Bale is staying. Don't think he will personally and I don't think it would be a disaster for Spurs either if he did leave.

With roughly £50m.....you could improve not go backwards.

Stretford

stop sniffing around, your not getting him and thats that

posted on 2/5/13

I'm not saying we are. I still think he will leave though and almost certainly if you finish 5th which is a possibility.

Why wouldn't he want to join United though? Best team in land managed by best manager. He would vastly improve his salary and get to play alongside better players.

If he wants to win titles, and I'm sure he does, and stay in this country.....he has to leave Spurs. Sorry guys.....truth hurts sometimes.

He could go abroad but at such a young age, would he consider that yet?

"He could go abroad but at such a young age, would he consider that yet?"

Levy no longer sells to clubs he considers capable of taking a CL slot from Spurs.

posted on 2/5/13

If Bale says.....I want to leave to better myself but I don't fancy moving abroad just yet. City, United and Chelsea are really his only options.

Okay Levy could refuse to give in but then you run the risk of keeping a player who wants to leave and will no doubt drop in performance. And somebody he could sell for MEGA money too.

Players have the power these days. And agents. Sad but true.

I refer you to Modric.
Keep wishing though all you Spurs haters though.

posted on 2/5/13

I'm not a Spurs hater. I like Spurs and the way they play. Reminds me of United teams of old with Bale and Lennon bombing down the wings.

But Bale is a tremendous player and too good to not be competing for the biggest trophies. He won't win the big ones staying at Spurs and he will know that, unless you're bought by a sheik or Russian, you won't anyway.

Turth hurts like I say.

Sorry, but Levy has showed the PL how he rolls.
Bale-celona, or Balern Munich, certainly.
You want him, relocate your clubs overseas.

Stretford

So we should just always sell our ebst players to keep the status quo of the same teams winnig the title in the next ten yrs

In germany they have had 5 different winners in last 5 yrs i think ?

We are 3-4 players away from challenging for the title or 3-4 players away from falling back into the mid table pack if we sell them

Your views are everything thats wrong with football and people in todays world

pure greed and the hate of anyone challenging you

You seem to think you have some kind of right to the best players inthe world, why should Tttenham not try and keep their best players and build a team to fight at the top

Long before you were born im guessing Tottenham were and still are one of the biggest clubs in the country so stop with the belittling comments about how we cant keep players

we dont need or want to sell and he has a long contract and hes very unlightly to put in a transfer request so my guess is hes going nowhere and its up to the club to show him we mean to clallenge

posted on 2/5/13

No you shouldn't just sell your star players but this Spurs team is the best one I have ever seen in my time and you still might only get 5th spot.

Saying 3 or 4 players away means nothing as the teams above keep buying 3 or 4 too and keep on improving.

Are you going to finish above United or City any time soon? Not likely. Therefore Bale will go season after season without a league winners medal.

I know you don't want to hear it. It's just how things are. United and City aren't going anywhere. And Chelsea will come back stronger under maureen. Spurs don't have a lot of hope sadly.

"I know you don't want to hear it."

Think you can't handle the fact Bale won't be going to a PL club as his first post-Spurs transfer.

Mate, your talking such rubbish its untrue

We might get 5th, we might finish 3rd who knows but to say we cant challenge is crap, do you know what players are coming through at Tottenham who could be the stars of tomorrow, in your world UTD will win the title for the next 100 yrs.. what a boring world that would be
