I don't think you can say Berba's career went backwards joining United. He won titles and played his part. He wasn't the right player for us but he was still pretty good. That's just football.
If he stays at Spurs all his career then that would be an awful shame. It's inevitable he'll leave though I think. If not this summer then most certainly next.
You just have to accept the inevitable like we did with Ronaldo and get as much wonga as possible. Ronaldo signed a new contract with us and still left.
I hope it is true, he is a fantastic player. Yes, he could go to United and help them win their zillionth trophy, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. It must be tough for you United fans having a bad season by maybe coming second once in a while!

Why be so childish about it? I've been fair and reasonable in my opinions. Like I said, I like Spurs as a club and wasn't being a wum about it.
And we don't need Bale to win the PL....clearly. Even with a horrendously bad set of wingers this season we've won it with ease.
We need a player of his ilk to get back to being Europe's best. Something a club the size of ours always wants to be.
I agree though that it's unlikely he'll be sold to United.
Imagine if United somebody signed Ronaldo and Bale this summer.
Personally I'd give up and watch curling instead.

I think Curling is safe then
Ronaldo will be staying where he is and Bale will join him or stay at spurs and go there next summer.
How on earth could Madrid let Ronaldo go? They'd fall so far behind Barca if they did.

Even if Spurs were to sell Bale, Spurs would still finish above Liverpool.
And we don't need Bale to win the PL....clearly. Even with a horrendously bad set of wingers this season we've won it with ease.
Great for you, but boring for the rest of us. I have no issues with Manchester based fans, but plenty with the glory hunting London ones. There are 3 of them in my office and they all think United have the divine right to win it every season.
To be honest, if City get a competent manager they should win the league next year. Their squad is far better than United's, but Fergie is still the master.

See this is the attitude i hate. Fans like this who think it's the massive clubs gods given right to just cherry pick every top player. I could understand if Bale was playing for Wigan in relegation battles every season but he is not, he is playing for Spurs who are a massive club and currently challenging at the top for champions league places last few years aswell as a new stadium in the pipeline and the best training facility in europe. We might not be a powerhouse like Madrid or United but why the hell would it be a "shame" if Bale stayed. If anything it would be a brilliant "shove it where the sun don't shine" to all the massive clubs who feel just on name alone, they have a right to every player they want......Bale loves it at spurs, clearly enjoys his football and under a manager he respectss and adored by the fans. Berbatov might of won stuff but he was never loved by United fans like he was at Spurs and i can guarantee was never really as happy as he was at tottenham, f ucking arrogance!!!
Don Tottenham
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Talk about being precious.
Terrible that once he finishes at Spurs, we have to sell him overseas as he will not further develop as a player stuck in the PL.
Agree with Don 100% here. The arrogance of this united fan is astounding, but not surprising.
How on earth is a club like Spurs ever to challenge if the uniteds of this world always take the best players?
It's a self fulfilling prophecy you talk of Stretford.
Talk about being precious."
Not being precious at all mate. Just fed up of the arrogant attitude fans like you give off as if to say bale shouldn't be at a club like ours, load of b olloks if you ask me.
How on earth is a club like Spurs ever to challenge if the uniteds of this world always take the best players?"
Exactly mate, it's almost like they feel its their gods given right to remain a title challenging team so no other team can keep a top class player for a certain amount of years otherwise it might hinder their own progress now I'm boy saying we are close to united because we are not, but we will certainly improve and get close to being title challengers if we keep the likes of bale and improve.
Exactly. Every time rival fans say its a shame when a good player doesn't play for one of the giants, then football as a sport dies a little bit
Stretford and his ilk say clubs like spurs & arsenal never win things and so the likes of bale should leave for one of the giants. But they don't win things precisely because these same giants continuously unsettle players and nick them, and the media have a big hand in this too. It stinks and football will be dead in a few years if the likes of utd, city & Chelsea get their way
the best training facility in europe
Says who?
he is playing for Spurs who are a massive club and currently challenging at the top for champions league places last few years aswell as a new stadium in the pipeline and the best training facility in europe

Oscar, well what i have said is factually true though mate. We are a massive club and i did say "we are not a powerhouse like madrid or united" by the way, we do have a big stadium in the pipeline (bigger than yours may i add and it's a known fact that Spurs have one of the best training facilities in europe now.

This was in 2009 when initial work begun. Every reporter and media since have been to our training ground and reported it as "one fo the best in europe" .....We opened it fully this season and they had interview with AVB on sky sports and absolute everyone was raving about it. My point being, Bale is at a great club with great facilities etc.
The training facility is not good.
Because its hot drinks dispenser in reception makes anything but "hot" drinks.
