And on this basis, i feel Ade gives us that better balance, plus i think Defoe is more useful from the bench later in the game (than Ade).

Its not always about a direct comparison of who is better than who.

I don't mind seeing Carroll play in a Capital One Cup, some EL games and even a couple of 20 minute appearances in the PL but there is no way he should start against Chelsea in the most important game of the season.

I agree that Defoe has the bigger goal threat individually but i think we, as a team, have a bigger threat on goal when Ade is on the pitch - for some reason i dont know - we just seem to score more and look like scoring more when he's in the team. And it is a team game.

Like Chicken, i think the team plays marginally better when the lone player up front is Ade and not Defoe. More team goals stem from Ade playing than Defoe (i imagine), and as its a team game i believe Ade should get the nod with Defoe providing firepower from the bench.

Defoe will just be running into their huge CBs all day long if he starts from KO. Better to have somebody playing that will look to get others involved, like Bale, from the beginning

ade is better for the team than defoe. not sure if you were watching defoe against wigan and southampton, don, but you could have had a lampost up top and had just as much out of it.

to be fair to him, not sure what we were playing it by pumping it long all day.

the performance against southampton was very, very poor by all (including Bale aside from his outstanding g oal)

Yeh i agree with you all. Defoe was pants against Southampton and Wigan but then you need to look at the city game and look at Defoe's brilliant goal. Ci#ould you honestly see Adebayor picking the ball up like that and drilling it hard into the corner? No bloody chance. I get what your saying in terms of team playing better because Ade holds the ball up more but i still would pick Defoe upfront anytime of the week. I want to us score goals against Chelsea and Defoe offers so much more of a goal threat than Ade

The issue is that we probably need to score 3 goals just to avoid defeat.

I think we score more goals when Ade is in the team as the other players look to score themselves as Ade is never in the box, with Defoe playing the ball is usually played through to him when we are attacking as they know he will look to score, with Ade, players must look in the box, see no one there or Ade not making a run to the near or far post so they end up shooting themselves. I don't think Ade has assisted much at all this season. Yes he runs out wide and creates space, but lets be honest, even our players must know that theres more chance of Defoe scoring the Ade.

only thing im hoping is ade see's it as 'shop window' time......

and is hoping too get one last big money move..........!!!!

Adebayor has scored 3 goals all season mate. You can't be negative about Defoes goal scoring in comparison to Ade this season
