This in spades!!
I suspect we have a different view of what ability and skill actually represent cinci. If you like Hamill then I guess you like party tricks. My criteria would be in their value to the team and from their contributions this season I think Sako, Doyle, Hunt, Davis, Doherty, Batth, Robinson, Ebanks Blake would be a few that have contributed more than Sigurdarson.
I do think he is a promising player and I hope we keep him. Still think he will struggle to make it as a central striker though and will be more likely to succeed as an attacking wide player unless he can toughen up a bit.
Agreed regarding what criteria dj.
I do not like hammill at all, for me its a sin to ever give the ball away, you should pass, pass, pass, if.he pulled any tricks playing for me he would be dropped lol.
I meant overall ability, technical skill, passing ability but do get your point with contribution.
I share your concern Wolfgang but he has at least JackAss left Millwall higher than he found them which can’t be said of Saunders or Solbakken with their former clubs.
If we call him JackBoots would that help?
Bit puzzled why we're only going for managers who finished lower than McCarthy. Fergusson, Jacket, & O'Driscoll seem to be prominent suggestions on the E&S site. Those advocating a move for Mick are wasting their time, in my view. He doesn't have to come back, and has nothing to prove here.
Because McCarthy is way out of our league now IoB we couldn’t afford him and he wouldn’t come.
You're puzzled IoB? It's because we're 2 leagues lower than we were when we sacked McCarthy. I'd have thought that was fairly self-explanatory.
I'd like us all to have a Coyle fitted personally.
Jackett has not been offered the job as far as I can see. If he were, I would be as underwhelmed as I have been by TC, SS and DS. At least Morgan would be consistent in his appointments, I suppose.
Seriously though, what criteria is Morgan using to decide on his managers? Even with is being in tier 3, we should surely be able to draw-in a better class of candidate than Kenny's Jackett!
I'll whisper this, to avoid antagonising anyone, but I actually think we might have been better off sticking with MM.
Pretty amusing reading all the Tweets on BBC Sportsday about how shocking a decision it was to sack Saunders.
Shedloads of people who clearly have no idea how bad he was sticking their oar in with quotes like:
"Poor decision by Wolves to sack Saunders! He didn't really get much of a chance!"
"Come home to find Wolves have sacked Saunders. I feel sick for Saunders as he has been an innocent victim of our bad management."
"Wolves deserve everything they get. Sacking Saunders is disgraceful. Poor, poor decision. League 2 next."
"Thought Wolves would of learnt their lesson that everything started going wrong with the sacking of McCarthy, solves little."
Yawn, yawn, yawn. A few unpleasant truths in there re. our upper management and their poor decision-making but amazing how blithely ignorant other fans are to how appallingly Saunders did.
The last few managerial appointments have been abysmal but I think we can all agree Morgan's got this one right.
Morgan definitely got the sacking right HaaK. My fear is that he also needs to get the replacement right and I have no confidence that he will!
Best way to avoid antagonising people would probably have been not to post that at all IoB. I think we're all quite aware of your feelings regarding McCarthy by now, and while we think it's very sweet we reckon you're probably best off saving it for when you spoon each other to sleep at night
We all wish we still had McCarthy now. We all agree that he's a better manager than Connor, Solbakken or Saunders were. Even those who wanted him out agree that he was sacked at totally the wrong time. But not one of us could possibly have predicted how badly Morgan and Moxey would handle replacing him. And likewise not one of us would have called for McCarthy's head had we known how badly they'd bungle it.
HAAK. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad people are now agreeing with me. I also realise I was risking upsetting the guilt-ridden by posting that on this thread, so to rectify the situation, I've made it a subject of its own, elsewhere...
I noticed
I'll refrain from commenting on that one though.
HaaK, steady on there mate. We, as in WE don't all wish MM was still here.
The decision was made and quite rightly so. However there are always those who agreed at the time, who are now changing their tune.
You are absolutely right in suggesting that none of us expected the turmoil that's gone on since and so many bad decisions made by Morgan.
The people who are against the sacking obviously never sat through the hoofball, were baffled by his substitutions and listened to his verbal diarrhoea at every post match interview.
The only downside is that i swore i wouldn't go to molineux again while he was manager, time to reactivate the credit
Don't fall into the trap that, just because the three managers after McCarthy were tripe, you should have kept McCarthy.
Morgan made the right decision sacking McCarthy. He only got the timing wrong.
This time, with Saunders, he's got the decision and the timing right.
All of a sudden, Coyle's inane grin and white socks seem endearing.
I have been reading the comments on the BBC website with amusement. The consensus from other fans who have no idea how bad Saunders was, is that it is a terrible decision to sack him.
The terrible decision was to appoint the clueless moron in the first place. I don't have much confidence in Morgan making a good decision this time but he would have to excel himself to make a worse one.
Sometimes those distant from a situation see things more clearly though, Rogereli, although I'm not saying that that is necessarily the case here.
As a case in point, I'm well known for being a Wolves supporter here on this island, where most folk are either the green or blue half of Glasgow. English football is closely followed as well, and I would dearly love to have a pound for everyone who comes up to me and says where they think Wolves went wrong. It's ironic that I have to tell them that I completely agree with them, and that I'm not alone, as past players, and many forum contributors will testify.
My colours are securely pinned to your mast Bute.
I think most would agree that constantly changing managers is no way to run a club but its the appointments that are causing the problem, not the sackings.
Funny you should say that bute as my 14 year old nephew, who is a saints fan just messaged me laughing and suggested how daft we were to sack solbakken without giving him time.
Just out of interest Butey, where do the people up there that you talk to think we went wrong?
So basically wolfie, Cinci and an unknown 14 year old suggest that sacking SS was daft. 30,000 Wolves' fans beg to disagree!
Agree about constantly changing managers, but we need to get the right one. We had him once, but 'threw him back' so need to get another good one. Kenny Jackett?? I don't think so.
