if its that line up....time too fear the worst....

they will get a hiding....

We will play that small club tactic of 11 men behind the ball play very deep and attempt to counter. Stupidity by avb if he sticks to his guns and does this again.

It has worked twice very fortunately against arsenal and united.

I'm gonna be screaming tonight but I can only see one result.

Of course the referee will help aswell. Another ghost goal to make it three in three seasons, a debatable penalty, a sending off for us that never was. Ivanovic or Cahill will get away with murder at the other end.

Our biggest hope is Benitez.
Lets hope he f's his selections and tactics up.

Whoever plays does not matter, all we need is 11 players to go out and give their best, 100 per cent `A` games from all the players, no hiding, no getting into a lead and then gifting Chelsea a way back, defend properly (some hope), and put away any chances that come our way, and you never know even after 20 odd years, the boys may just surprise us all. On the other hand we will probably getted royally spanked.

Eh?

Dunno about anyone else but I suggest that it matters greatly. For example I would like to think lloris would be in goal at the very least

I actually have faith in avb to get the tactics spot on tonight. I know what Sandy's saying, Chronic - he means it's more important that whoever goes out there that they stand up to be counted and not bottle it. We've had some big wins this season, Arsenal, Utd away, City - we show up for big games now....i hope

Losing would be THE END. A draw keeps us going.

For that reason I expect a more circumspect starting line up, set up to counter attack. In a counter attacking team Bale is better starting from deep rather than being the most forward player. Ball up to Ade, Bale breaking past him.

451/433...wider players (Bale & Dempsey/Siggy) working hard to cover the FBs. Parker & may be Holtby pressing hard in the midfield. Huddlestone pulling the strings from deep.

Although Mata is a clear danger, someone like Ramires scares me because he can come from deep and has more pace than any of our CM.

Rafa is a cagey sort. I expect him to play quite a solid line up. CFC really just need to avoid defeat and sometimes its hard to play for a draw so there is an argument for us to really go at them hard, be brave, do or die.

Will need immense discipline from Holtby and Parker to ensure CM is contested in defence, and Hudd has time and space to get pinging in attack.

Dembele posted a pic on instagram last night from Amsterdam "recovering" with his GF

Yeah flashy I saw that. His mrs is very nice. Certainly worth a poke

If in doubt he should just play his fittest midfield. His system requires closing down in midfield. So for me the midfield three should be Holtby, Parker and Dembele (if fit) should be the midfield.

I really hope Lennon and Bale start. That would at least give us an athletic team. If we give chelsea space Mata and Hazard will cause havoc.

Lennon should not be risked.

posted on 8/5/13

RDBD, we don't have much choice but to risk. Unless Lennon is injured, he needs to start IMO.

posted on 8/5/13

Sorry, but looklike said his ongoing injury is such that he is a <standard> away from being out of a start for next season.

posted on 8/5/13

It would be pointless playing Lennon if he is carrying a knock - look at his performance against Southampton

Dembele* & Hudd CM
Benny and Bale LM
Walker and Lennon** RM
Ade and Siggy** behind him

*If no Dembele then Holtby. If no Demebele or Lennon then Parker

**If no Lennon, Siggy at RM and Defoe up front with Ade
