The question is how good is he as a lone striker?

I actually can see Rooney leaving utd...he probably would stay in England too.

He's better than Torres and Ba...

Rooney isn't good enough anymore

If Moyes does become the manager this may be a possibility. Pretty sure they had a really fractured relationship in the aftermath of his move and Moyes tried to sue him.

Whether Rooney has grown up and they're willing to put their differences aside is another matter.

........................................

The one season we used him as one people were calling him 3rd to Messi and Ronaldo...

He notched up a hell of an impressive goal tally.

I don't want him to go, in terms of for you there aren't too many better players you could sign.

He has a worst first touch than Torres, so have fun with that.

Rooney would score a hatful playing up front for Chelsea. He's lost a lot of his technical ability but his movement and finishing in the box is very good.

A fresh challenge and a new style of play may even rivitalise him getting his fitness back and learning to control and pass the ball as well as he used to.

I wouldn't want him. Certainly not on his current wage, and including the fee we would need to get him. Its not worth it. Theres better alternatives out there.

I have always rated Wayne Rooney

Oh please god no, are we really going buy another player in decline, have we learnt nothing from Veron, Sheva and Torres.

It would be a disaster...........

Not good enough. Can't get a game for a very average Manu team. Overrated fat scouse waanker.

I think rooney will be good under mourinho , he thrives from confidence and Mourinho character and motivational ability will help rooney.

Rooney has had an okay season at this year scored goals decent goals/game ratio and was key in the win over mancity. He will be a great signing and will do well

Also this person who keeps one starring my articles wont get me wound up , I know im new on her and frankly one staring an article thats asking for opinions is rather childish.
So far all who have shared their side thanks , nice to know there are more sensible people on the site

FFS he would be a bigger mistake than Torres, let's look forward ffs, we don't need this guy, he is not good enough, and represents all we should be moving away from....

If we could get him for under 20 million and his wages were no more than 110k I would not mind so much.

However, he will likely cost 30+ and will want 200k+

There is someone who does this automatically, i think it may be a computer programme..

haha Are you kidding me!?? The devastating Rooney left 2 years ago. This one is crap.

Rooney may not be the player he once was, but he's still a class striker - and I'm one of his harshest critics.

If he had Mata, Oscar, Hazard and whoever Chelsea might sign supplying him he'd score a bucket load.

Whether Chelsea should sign him or not is another matter as I'm sure there are better alternatives. But he would be a good signing for you. Especially when you consider what he offers you off the pitch.

We won't sell to you anyway.

Rooney too good to go to a tin pot team like Chelsea. Your time will soon be over and you'll be gracing mid table once again.

Better than gracing league 1 footy

Plastic fans will soon disappear and good riddance to the tin pot club that is Chelsea punching above their weight where they don't belong.
