I guess it depends on the person. I'm not really one for disliking a nation based on historical events (apart from the French, but that's natural ).
And having a connection with the country makes it easier to like.
Maradona was incredible. It's mental in Buenos Aries. You can see almost iconography of him everywhere. It's nuts to see a footballer so idolised. There's even a church of Maradona! Google it, it's hilarious.
Australians are the bestest by far.
I dislike Australians on the basis there's one on this site that is a massive .

You don't see enough of those sort of players nowadays. Footballers have become far too functional than they used to.
I guess the massive amounts of money involved nowadays means the great entertainers are becoming a rarity.
