Also apologies to the Dundee United fan, I've been to Dundee a few times and should know better.
Just like to say all the Dundee fans that have come on our various forums have been extremely gracious and well wishing to us and Goodwillie. Considering he was a 'star' player it is pleasing to see.
Working hard for the team and running yourself into the ground ever match goes a long way with Rovers fans, from what I've seen Goodwillie looks that have the right attitude and ability to be a success.
But he will have well over 10 chances to score a goal this season, just want him to get into double figures,
------------------------------------------------------------------------
so you want him to score with pretty much every other chance he gets, if he could do that he would be at Barcelona!
To say things could turn out "amazingly well" is the overstatement of the year (are you on Venkys payroll?). The best the current set of players and management is capable of is 10th - 12th. I'd be delighted with that. I think realistically we're talking 12th - 17th, which obviously means we'll be flirting with relegation for much of the season.

Man alive! I meant with our attacking play having Roberts as a main striker, the attackers playing off him could go amazingly well. Cripes, SKL hot on the trigger finger!

Pedersen
Give me a break man. Too bothered about his hair to sprint after a ball and couldn't tackle his way into a paper bag.
Yeah ditto, cheers cybershed and good luck yourselves this season. Very bizzarre this but always had a soft spot for Dundee Utd after picking them to manage on Champ Manager 2 cause I liked the name/kit. Always watch out to see how you're faring against Dundee positions-wise, must be pretty happy on that score the last few years!
You're probably right about Hoilett mcteeth, everything crossed he signs a new contract, stays happy and doesn't get injured.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet has a previously proven reputation for covering the most miles each game out of anyone in the squad

so attack goes amazingly well, i'm assuming that means we win a lot of games and we do really well in the leauge? Like and old school Newcastle!

he does seem to get a lot of niggley little injuries. I hope that's not a sign of things to come with him, it would be a shame.

My most hated Pedersen 'stat'. It means nothing, he may be covering a lot of ground, just very slowly, probably because he is always chasing play and feels left behind...
Lets not make this a Pedersen mcteeth thread!
Most hated cause its hard to argue with? If he's covering it very slowly then how will he end up covering more than everyone else, he'd have to play for twice as long. Fair enough though, we'll never agree unless we sat down and both watched only him for 90 minutes of each game rating each thing he did. Which probably wouldn't be as much fun as it sounds.
Were you on the old 606 by the way SKL? Oojw seems surprisingly absent these days so was wondering if he'd covertly changed his name.
I was once givet up givet up baby givet up, a merry chap. How things have changed.
Hahaha oh yeah, god knows why that song never caught on at Rovers. You were indeed a merry chap, things will get better anyway. Rovers always finish 6th, 10th or 15th, it appears literally impossible for us to finish anywhere else (apart from 1 freak season when we didn't turn up at Birmingham in the last game). I'm gonna have a guess at 10th for this season.
McTeeth confusing fact with opinion again, and did we buy Peds for his tackling?
Me, I don't think Robinson scores enough!
If you play in central midfield you have to able to tackle.
How's tricks Pie?
Paul scholes was dead good at tackling.
Paul Scholes had the 3/4 bookable offences before we even consider sending you off Man Utd rule. Pedersen doesn't, lunging in with tackles when he can't tackle would most likely get him sent off fairly regularly. And is actually the lazy option in comparison to standing up and going with a man.
"Me, I don't think Robinson scores enough! "
He got the golden boot for keepers award one year but I don't think has ever had the golden gloves one...
Didn't I say lets not make this a Pedersen thread...
I think pedersens best position is now in central midfield, i think he lost a yard of pace and now is to slow to play outwide. Pedersens tackling isn't the best but its not the worst have seen, i think is quite good a just nicking the ball, getting a toe on it.

So true - the amount of people who think defending is just going for the ball as a tackle really grinds my gears - good defending is about positioning, jockeying, working as a unit and timing on what tackling you do. Its winning the ball back as a unit not individual 'Hollywood' tackles.
