Maybe the trains from Stockport are not running on Sunday !
City fans are hard working Mancunians. I guarantee that if the game was on a Saturday they would have no problem selling out.
This will be the 3rd time in as many months that City have been to Wembley. For travel and ticket costs for those games you are looking at £1,000 at a time when people are still on holiday.
Every team struggles to sell out games in August because of the holiday season and City are no different.
I put the same argument to the City board the other day.
Apparently they cant afford it. Oh, and a few of then are scared of the United fans who go. They think they might get punched.
Couldn't make it up.
How would it work at at £1,000 if tickets are indeed as cheap as £20?
A lot of workplace grudges could be settled with bluenoses who dont actually work at your place of work.Proxy-punchups you could say and you keep your job.
Really is pathetic, some of the excuses are hilarious.

Travel and accommodation. Plus I don't know anybody that goes to matches on their own. I'm talking about all 3 games combined. £1,000 in the space of a month for just 3 games is a lot of money when you consider City will be back in London for Spurs at the end of this month as well.
You wouldn't have to stay over though. Just get on the Megabus.
why do you need accommodation
Yeah get the Megabus or hop on a flight with united airways, I hear that it's only £11.49 for yous lot
Rooney 19 - Admin1 saved my life. They thought I couldn't do it (apart from Barry), now look at me, 12345 is mine, RUINEY WILL NEVER DIE! Join the fight against long usernames, we are the Group Against Your Morbidly Erratic Names! (U1005)
Average price of a ticket to Wembley - £35 X 2 (at least) = £70
Average price of petrol from Manchester to London there and back = £126
Travelodge in London for the night on a match day = £40
Food and Drink expenses = £30
So for the 3 trips to Wembley in total:
Tickets: £210
Petrol from Manchester to London: £ Let's say £350
Hotel price for 2 Adults = £120
Food and Drink Expenses: £100
Total: £780
That would come to £1,000 if you have to take the Monday off work to get back.
What ? City haven't sold out for Community Shield...okay it's only community shield but it's a derby ffs! Bloody joke them lot, can't wait till they fail dramatically.
Spurs haven't sold out their PL game against City (and they have less seats to fill) and they are on general sale, shall we criticise them as well?
August is financially hard times for people financially, only January is worse. Give them a break, it's only a friendly.
Everyone accepts United are a bigger club and City and have more supporters so move on
which self respecting football fan would feel the need to get accommodation for an away game.
Bubbles, face it lad you have never been to a game in your life have you?
Food and Drink
they would still eat if they didnt go!
Not sure why a Chelsea is desperately trying to make excuses for them.
It's their shame.

I've been to Old Trafford more times than you have thats for sure
I go to Chelsea home and away and travel thousands of miles each season to see us play
Unless you are going to unplug your fridge and take it with you I don't see how you would be paying the same

Maybe cos the coffers are running dry at Chelsea so now he's become a Citeh fan?
Or maybe because he likes the irony of United criticising other team's support as plastic!
ok, the only one of your claims I dispute if that unless you have been to OT several hundred times then you haven't been as many times as I have.
If food was that much of an issue make some butties from the contents of your fridge before you set off.
Accommodation.
you tourist.

A City fan is what you and most United fans will become in a few years once they overtake you and take the title off you this season
I'm not sticking up for City, I'm sticking up for match going fans like myself. You wouldn't understand.
It's easy for United fans to sit in their armchairs and criticise City for not selling out when you have fans all over the country.
The vast majority of United's match going fans come from Greater Manchester and London, whereas City's tends to be in Manchester itself and in Stockport, Altrincham etc.
You ought to know that United didn't sell out their CL QF at Stamford Bridge, they had returns which were unfilled. Now I don't blame United fans for that because I understand that it is a long way for some to go for a 7.45pm midweek game, despite the fact we took our full allocation
