i'm not one who cares about numbers. the only reason they are there is so that we can spot players from far, while they are playing and so that its easy for the ref when he books them (as he just puts their number down, rather than name).
anyway, gervinho wore no.22 in pre season, so i'm guessing he'll be given that. as for young jack, i think he'll get no.4

I read somewhere the Gervinho would get the so called "cursed" number 9.
Pretty sure he wore 22 at the weekend though.

I personally think numbers are quite important and would like my main XI to have the number 1-11 with a few exceptions.
