Marine,
My view on this process of selecting a new manger by the board is, in theory, fine. The process sounds to be well thought out to get the candidate most suited to Donny.

The news filtering out from Donny on the selection criteria compared to the candidates mentioned in the press does not appear to be consistent and if Dickov is announced as manager on Monday will, I am sure, cause a lot of questions to be asked.

We all know whoever gets the job will not have an easy run but we will have BF in the background to save the show again,

PS,
Things don't seem to be going well in Brazil for the next world cup? Ramario comes across as a peoples hero on the documentary I watched the other night.

Well it's officially down to 2. The main criteria seems to be choosing someone with potential rather than experience, as per the DS appointment. However, bigger gambles can produce bigger rewards. Of the 2, Appleton would be the biggest gamble as he has hardly had any stable management experience and his stats for the 79 games he has managed are frankly poor, even given the circumstances. Dickov looks the better bet overall. A steady start to his short career and someone with very firm ideas on how he wants to manage. Does anyone know why he really resigned at Oldham?

Personally I see it as a good choice by Rovers but only time will tell. The key will be how the relationship with BF works. If it ends up a power struggle then it won't. I'd guess BF's personality isn't inclined that way. So, it could work very well, but I have a suspicion Dickov , being a Scot, will want to do it all his way.

Mr Highfield has resigned his MD post due to the way its all been handled behind the scenes. Then flew off to Cyprus to be away from what's going on.

Just remember Mr Highfield was the main player in bringing SoD to Donny not JR. On the plus side, the other 2 amigos are not that keen on DickOff, so there could be a twist still to come.

Over the many years Mr Stuart Highfield has done a lot of work in Donny with football and has run many various things to promote youth football and run courses, he is also the landlord for JR (Highfield Property Services) on oversaw JR's properties in Doncaster - a lot were sold this time last year when Mr Ryan was thinking of going.
Things certainly are not looking good according to many, but be certain in this thought, if it is Dickov and I say "IF", then all you will get from the board is two fingers in your faces, you will have to wait and find out, make no mistake, it does not matter you all getting hot under the collar, and moments of passion, stating that you will not by a Season Ticket are fine and I agree totally with you all. BUT nobody on the board gives two hoots what you say, and now the board have someone else to spout their tails, and Mr B will eventually get fed up

I'd be really worried if the board and management team did things on the basis of fans popular choice. Most of us have no idea what we are talking about!

BVZ,
I thought Stuart had resigned his position on the board before this process started? I guess that he may well not be happy with how this process has been handled? i.e. JR declaring its down to two even before the last interview takes place!

It looks like the choice has been made. Press conference at 4pm tomorrow.

The mystery of the appointment will be revealed tomorrow at 4pm. Its looking like Dickov and if he satisfies the 18 point criteria it doesn't say much for the other incredible applicants!

The Board consists of just JR and Gavin Baldwin and has done for some time. On the big issues, then clearly, the other 2 owners would also need to be in agreement.

For the world cup here, preparations are very poor. I've seen a few of the new grounds and they are no where near. The Maracana opened again after a refit, but I understand there is a lot to do still. I am just trying to get tickets for the England game next month. When Brazil tendered for the world cup, one of the items that swung it their way, was the upgrade to the infrastructure, airports and roads etc. Well as I travel by air all over the country, I haven't seen any modifications to any of the airports that I have been to. Also the main road, the BR101 was supposed to have been upgraded to a dual carriageway. This road, stretches almost the whole length of Brazil and is mostly a single carriageway, and is extremely dangerous, made doubly so by the absolutely crazy driving of the drivers here. Anyway, the upgrades are being done in a few places, but no way is it going to fulfill the promise. They have now changed their minds and decided it will be better if nobody goes to work or school on match days, the idea being, that the traffic will ease. The problem with that is that when Brazzos aren't at work, they are driving their cars, so it doesn't take a lot to see what will happen on match days.
This is the world cup I am talking about, where the matches are spread out and are in different cities. Next up is the Olympics, all in Rio and many more countries and spectators turning up. The airport is already overloaded. I have missed more than one flight trying to park my car. Also, there is an acute shortage of hotel space so, they are going to bring in cruise ships to ease the problem. Also they are going to utilize the motels around, as accommodation. Motels here are not as we know them in the UK, they are used for an entirely different purpose and are generally paid for by the hour. (Allegedly)
So we outsiders are planning to be nowhere near the chaos that is sure to ensue

Thats exactly what came across in the documentary plus an element of financial impropriety, strange that who would have thought FIFA may be involved with that?

This clip is a boy called Will long 14 who plays for Donny boys. Could be good but can he do the biz in a game?

On the point of Stuart Highfield - he did announce his resignation long before this process began.
On the point of JR selling properties in Donny because he was thinking of packing up with the Rovers - what a load of tosh.
Even if he did leave the Rovers - why would he need to sell a property portfolio?
He wont go collecting the rents himself will he.
I have had a few giggles to myself recently with all the conspiracy theories on here this season, most of which have proven to be incorrect.
