It was Lazio, my bad, i really thought it was us

ECWC was good
If they brought it back, slimmed down the Europa and stopped parachuting CL flops in it'd be much better
doesnt matter what happens Chelsea will find a way to make sure Spurs dont get into the Champions League
The country that has one of their clubs winning the CL should just get an extra place imo.
I had no problem with Chelsea getting the CL spot last season - to me the CL winners deserve the place more than a club finishing 4th. You shouldn't really expect to be rewarded for that, it's a bonus
I thought the same with Liverpool and Everton in 2005 so I'd be a hypocrite to think otherwise just because its my team.
If, however, Chelsea finished 5th next season, won the Europa after dropping out of the CL and got rewarded the CL place instead of us who finished 4th I'd be peed off . If Europa gets a CL place then CL dropouts shouldn't be allowed in
It would just further reduce the incentive to try and win the EL to the point where teams go out of their way not to win it.
It'd be so funny if this happens if Spurs get 5th. Karma
Even if this was true there is no way that UEFA would be able to implement it for Chelsea next season.
They can introduce it starting from next season but there is no chance that they would be able to force Chelsea into the Europa League next season, especially as we´ve already qualified for a Champions League place.
The haters can cream themselves over this story all they like but it can´t and won´t happen.
Sorry haters
This is a terrible WUM. There is no way on earth that anybody would come up with a rule such as this, and I guarantee for absolutely definite that this is pure fantasy.
utter nonsense.
can you imagine the final being between two teams that have already qualified for next years CL? the "prize" for winning the game would be to get demoted to the EL instead. both sides would be trying to lose, putting out weak teams, gifting goals. it would make a farce of the whole game.
not. going. to. happen.
I was chatting with some mates the other day about the Europa and we were all pitching ideas about how we could stop it feeling like the Johnstones Paint Trophy of Europe.
My thought was why couldn't it run alongside the CL in the same way that the FA Cup runs alongside the PL.
We could have the top divisions in each of the countries, where, like the FA Cup, the lower placed teams play in the early rounds, with the big guns joining in rounds 3 or 4.
But, again like the FA Cup, it would be a true cup competition, no seedings, a straight draw, no keeping teams from the same country apart.
OK, for those teams already playing in the CL, its a few extra games, but still nothing like the workload currently placed on those in the Europa. But you would have all the thrills, spills and giant killing that we know and love with the FA Cup, plus a final and a trophy that actually feels special, rather than a best of the rest medal.
Dunno what you guys think, but I reckon it would work.
What? This isn't a WUM? I assumed it was.
Any link?
I wouldn't mind defending the EL next season. After the amount of games we have been through this season I wouldn't be against playing in the EL and CL next season.
We could play Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
Knowing our luck, this is for 2014/2015, we win the Europa next season and finish top 4, then get told we have to defend the Europa
we should be allowed to play in both in that case. I dont mind we play first team in CL and reserves in EL
we should be allowed to play in both in that case. I dont mind we play first team in CL and reserves in EL
what would we do if the first team go out in the Group stages of CL Again and they get drawn against our reserves...whatever the result wed be accused of match fixing
^ There would be no entry to EL for CL dropouts.
This story is utter nonsense.
If this was true then it wouldn´t make any sense.
Any team that drops out of the CL into the Europa like we did would then do their best to be knocked out of the Europa as they would want to be in the Champions League the following season, not back in the Europa League if they win it.
Absolute nonsense of a story.
If they give us 40 million pounds than no worries - if not they can go fark themselves
Blatter (FEEFER) has just come out and asked Platini (WAFER) to stop treating clubs like slaves.

UEFA aims to pass a new directive that as of next season the Europa League holders will be forced to defend their title regardless of their finishing position in their domestic league.

I think it would be better if the winner of Europa League were given a Champions League spot.
