WRONG. You can never keep a player against his wishes, no matter wot his contract says.
And Spurs are currently trying to get Bale to sign a new contract. I'm betting his agent is whispering in his ear right now ... "Real, ... Bayern.... Barca .... Man U ..... THE BEST ARE WAITING"

In all fairness, the actual words were "crisis team", which we are. This Arsenal team is pretty woeful compared to teams of Wenger's past.

But the rest of the prem is pretty woeful as well, hence the reason you are able to stay where you are for so long, it says something about the inherent weakness of the rest of the prem that Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal were able to remain unbeaten for their last 7 games, despite having lots of pressure on them.

"The team has got progressively worse over the last three years. So yes."

3 yrs ??

Your club has competed with Spurs for the final day PL 4th place cup 4 out of the past 8 seasons.

We're now in flick of the coin territory for your "crisis" seasons.

And I thank all the gods of all religions that it's Spurs we're competing with, and not a team with any testicular fortitude.

Ted your wrong there, any player can be made to see out his contract if the owner so wishes. The trouble is too many chairman buckle at the first sign of a player wanting out. But I doubt Levy will with Bale, and I don`t think Bale wants out anyway.

Slipping further away from the PL winners with each season. But you have that final day top 4 fight with Spurs to look forward to. <naked ambition>

Sandy you are spot on.

The league has been diabolically bad this season. The pundits on the sunday supplement argued it has been competitive because 4th/5th has gone down to the last day with a high points tally.

The truth is any of the bottom 12 clubs could have gone down this season. Arguably it could be even worse next season.

You're under the impression that Arsenal fans think we're Premier League contenders. No sane Arsenal fan thinks that, or indeed has thought that, in quite a while now.

You guys missed a big chance this season, regardless of how you want to laugh it off as not being important.

Arsenal in the CL is quite amusing, you get Wenger celebrating like he has won a trophy and then 6 months later when Arsenal inevitably get dumped out early, you get Wenger saying he wants top four again. The never ending circle of misery. Meanwhile the Emirates trophy cabinet is gathering dust like Queen Victoria`s bookshelf.

I think it's sad that Arsenal are only marginally better than a team that's won the league the same number of times as Huddersfield....

No we didn't. Last season would by definition be the "big chance" .
And therein lies the difference : every failure with us is not "crisis" , "worst ever" etc.

Talking of empty Trophy cabinets, whats in Spurs cabinet apart from dust

Groovy, we've won the same as you this season.

You did. Our squad cannot realistically get any worse this summer - we have no 'Fabregas/Nasri/RvP' type player to lose. If anything, we look to finally be in a position where we don't need to sell players to turn a transfer profit for once.

Add to that, Chelsea are going to get Mourinho and will undoubtedly strengthen heavily.

At best, you will keep Bale, but the top-class calibre of player is not open to you without Champions' League football. You'll get the pick of the scraps, and not even the good scraps.

Stupid comment really. Vertonghen facked your joke of a club off last Summer.

posted on 19/5/13

Vertonghen did the right thing.

He decided not to be a squad player at Arsenal and went for first-team football at Spurs, I've no gripes with that.

As you'll no doubt be saying next season.

RDBD has reached the stage where he can't reason a well-thought and mature reply, resorting to a torrent of uselessness.

RDBD is basically the human equivalent of his football club.

The RDBD is merely trotting the past/present/future claims that G00n 606 will be making during the off-season. As familiar a friend to us asthe "worst season ever" that comes the moment a season ends.

Spurs will just go downhill now. Bale will get bored and I'm sure he will be off. If you do get this new stadium that will leave you in huge debt and will take you many years to pay it off and you won't be like Arsenal who have still managed to finish in the top 4 and now we are close to paying off the stadium debt this will be the Summer where we will spend big

posted on 19/5/13

RDBD is alluding to the perfectly formed circle that is Arsenal football club.

Play their guts out for Champions League, fail in Champions League, play their guts out, fail in...... so on so on so on
