It must be great for you tims to have all the focus on Rangers signing activity, while at Celtic Park...

I didn't hear about Whyte meeting Liewell, how else did he get his Phd in deflection??

The guy has a point to a degree and had Whitaker kept the heid I am sure we would have won that game and progressed.

The caveat to all that is that last season we went straight into the group stages and so therefore we did not have the same urgency to bring players in. Whyte and McCoist knew that this malmo tie was coming and we were still caught cold in the first leg and without the signings he himself has said we need.

I understand his desire to get the best deal, however the penny pinching has just lost him £12million which is brutal.

On the plus side, hopefully Rangers and Celtic can get through the group stages (for Hearts it will be harder but fingers crossed) and get some co-efficient points that we would not have got in the CL. That way in years to come it may avoid these qualifiers and allow Scottish football to recover.

For me this season is now a chance to boost our ranking and we cannot afford not to make the most of it.

In all fairness though, he's not putting pressure on McCoist in any of his statements.

He says that if we had 11 players on the pitch we would have won. I agree with that. I certainly don't blame McCoist for Wednesday, the only criticism I have had is that he did not use all 3 subs to freshen things up when players were dead on their feet.
