I see Microsoft have gone back to their old 'box' console, a step backwards in my eyes.

Xbox one seems to have gaming as a secondary function and tv streaming and skype etc as its primary.

Ps4 is focusing on games.

I buy a games console for one reason

1st off 50% raw power is very different from 50% better, however i agree with the overall message you are trying to push across - in turn i would imagine that the 8 core cpu that the Xbox One uses will be 50% more powerful (i am still betting that it is clocked at 3ghz) which will make it better for multitasking. But like Sir Bubbly has said above i also buy a games console for one reason, and multitasking while watching TV aint it.

Having a Blu ray player makes it more appealing.

Problem with Playstation is the controllers are horrible. I've always preferred Xbox personally. Look forward to seeing the game reveals in few weeks time.

i really like the ps controllers. i tried the xbox and i didnt mind them but im just used to ps and i like them.

Giving it till E3 to see if Microsoft come out with any decent games otherwise ill be tempted to jump ship to ps4
Xbox reveal very disappointing

The features on Xbox look very good. But I want my console to be about games, although extra stuff is a bonus.

I like the PS4 feature where the game starts of from where you left it as soon as you turn it off.

I can understand the argument about wanting a console to be all about games primarily but that argument didn't really make much of a difference this last gen. Xbox 360 was definitely more about games than the PS3 was. Sony made no effort to keep it quiet either. They wanted their system to be the center of the to room and to be everything rolled into one. I find it funny now that people who are gung ho Sony would come out with the "games first" attitude now that it looks like the roles are reversed.

the ability to process things quicker and more efficiently will allow higher quality graphics to run more smoothly, means the ceiling of what you used to be capable of can be boosted even higher as the system will be able to handle the load.

But thats not what they are saying - it just says potentially the PS4 can push out 50% more stuff, doesnt make anything better. Just like piston vs rotary engine, just because a 2.5l piston engine has 50% more raw power than a 1.6l rotary does not mean that it out performs the 1.6l car by 50% if anything test have shown them to be almost the same due to the design. Also guess what the PS3 by all accounts had 100% better gpu processing than the 360.............how did that work out? At the end of the day this article is pretty irrelevant - the games will look and play more or less 99.5% identical just like the last round, the war will be won on a different battle ground.
