What do they think of themselves, ruining football.
Using Monaco as a way out of Porto
The maris pipers are going to be heart broken. I'm sure they were convinced they were going to get him
Some were. We were never in the running at 30m though.
Plenty more fish in the sea Brummie.
Is there a single club in Europe, other than Arsenal it seems, that are actually bothered about this FFP rule?!
Monaco are going batsh-t mental and PSG & Zenit will probably make more massive signings and Chelsea. Surely these clubs don't have the income to make signings of this magnitude? Other than dodgy sponsorship deals that UEFA have already said will be scrutinised.
I'm confused
At the end of the day they can spend what they like. The only thing UEFA can do is ban them from European cups.

Monaco trying to buy success........... Classless s ruining football.

---------------------------------------------------
And what top player is going to want to be at a club that isn't "dining at the top table"?
Expulsion from European football would be disastrous and certainly not in anyone's business strategy...I'm thinking it is more probable that these clubs have consulted their lawyers, who have simply winked at them and mouthed the word "loophole" at them....
Easier for them to just spend big and try to make up the revenue to keep them a float in the seasons after their initial success
Big gamble though! With the players touted for moves this summer the money spent is going to be insane
It's slowly dawning on me that there is now about a 0.0000001% chance that I'll ever see my team win a Premier League title
If it weren't for Roman and the Shieks, United would have just won their 8th title in a row (with 5 of the last 7 being won by near 20 point margains).
In other words the PL would be a glorified version of the SPL if it wasn't for Roman/Sheiks and now because of similar people the French league is on the up.
As for FFP, some bloke who won the bosman rule is taking them to court over it, so that won't be in place any time soon.
It won't be the top clubs that get screwed by it, it will be the bottom clubs that dare to dream. No more stories like Wigan coming all the way up to the PL or a Walker like character helping his boyhood club win the PL, owners like the venky's however can feck up as many clubs that they please.
what a shame
I think Moutinho and Rodriguez will probably be gone within a season or 2 anyway
The only reason they went to Monaco is probably because no top club were prepared to pay the prices Porto would have demanded so they snatched at any opportunity to get out just like Hulk did
Kings,
I totally agree mate. I'm against FFP as my view is that any bloke who wants to invest his OWN cash in a club should have the freedom to do so.
If clubs are borrowing from banks to gamble on success a la Pompey then it's a problem but if I won £500M on the Euromillions and wasn't allowed to turn my mob into a top outfit just because we've got no fans and a moderately sized stadium I'd be more than a little peed off!
Ron, but Monaco are hardly likely to accept making a loss, will they? especially if they turn out to be succesful.
Champagne
Exactly, FFP should be there to protect clubs from owners like the Venky's, where infact it will leave clubs more vaunrable to owners like that than ever.
I have said from the start this is just a ploy to get United dominating England with no one touching them (if anything was "ruining" football in England, wouldn't turning it into the SPL be that?). But then again they have Moyes
It's the premier league FFP that are stupid
A £4m increase in wage bill per year only allows for 1 top player per year for teams trying to compete for the title
On another note Liverpool could be top 3 next season according to the Genius that is got_better
Footballers are the poorest people in Monaco
Rodriguez for almost 40 million and mouthinhio only just over 20. Would have thought it was the other way around
^ Porto fixed it so they didn't have to pay quarter of Moutinho's fee to Sporting Lisbon
Pinto Da Costa's such a twerp, not even Levy would have attempted that
