Says more about the players than the manager
After a while the booing was small and really not that much of a big deal imo, Rafa just used it for his own agenda.

The results were cause the players wanted CL footy
When Benny said he was leaving the fans quietened
so when you lose its the managers fault but when you win its down to the players?
8bit your just a poor quality wum, but everyone forgets before Benetez took over and were 3 points behind utd .were 1st in the league with 6 /8 point lead over utd and city , the decline in the league had already begun under RDM and the failure to progress in the C/l was beyond the pale for Roman.
Now dont forget deleating is rude , if you cant support your story, + do you really think we are all fools and going to stand for your extremly poor attempt at a wind up, your still a liitle too fresh behind the ears matey !
Roman certainly believes so
If it's a poor wind up why are you so wound up Torres you little flower. But anyway this is not a wind up. it's simple really, chelsea have a much better squad than Arsenal and Spurs, but Benitez did worse these teams, lost ground on them and barely finished above them by the end of the season. so yeah explain why this is good management.
looking on the bright side...we could be Stoke...& just got Hughes as manager...
You go on and on about Rafa 8bit, calling him a flop etc and he's won more European trophies then Wenger with worse squads in some cases.
Get a grip of yourself and get over Rafa
crap manager benitez > worldclass manager wenger
I've won more than Wenger in the last 8 yrs
8bit,
The problem is that in order to gauge if he did a good job or not, we would need to know the objectives that Mr Abramovich set him for the season. Which we, of course, will never know. But a top four finish and a European trophy isn't a bad haul but considering where we were in the league when he took over, you do need to question why we fell so far away from Man United.

---------
Because united are a better team and they didn't have a change of manager in the middle of the season! I would have thought that was pretty obvious
bringing up Wenger is irrelevant, the article is nothing to do with him but keep deflecting if you want. He may have won more European trophies so why was he unemployed for 2 years and just got an interim job which in all likelihood was a last throw of the dice to try and get something out of Torres. whereas Wenger was Roman's no.1 choice for Chelsea manager when he took over as well as rejecting city, Real, PSG, etc, etc.
It's funny how the Chelsea fans can actually discuss it though but the Pool fans come on here seeing it as some sort of personal attack. Rafa's left you, get over it.

Should of caught City then
But you won’t give him any credit 8bit and just dismiss what he did. Remember Chelsea finished 6th last season, Rafa came in and took a squad he had no influence in assembling (bar the fact that he signed Torres for LFC) and finished them above Arsenal who have had Wenger in place for years and Spurs who had finished higher then Chelsea the previous season.
He also guided Chelsea through a terrible fixture pile up and clinched 3rd spot before winning the Europa.
We LFC fans do get sensitive with regards to Rafa but it's mainly because so many people just put him down and don't give him any credit for what he has achieved.
He did exactly what he was requested to do with Chelsea, get them CL football next season and win a trophy if possible, he deserves some credit for that and for dealing with the atmosphere he received at the beginning from some fans. The fact that all the booing etc. pretty much stopped says allot for what Rafa achieved at Chelsea.
Also he's won more then lots of so called better managers in the past decade even though he's apparently rubbish.
Kneerash, but we were 3 points behind them when Rafa took over and ended the season 14 points behind them. Is the gap in quality between Chelsea and United as much as that, considering we beat tem at Old Trafford and in the FA Cup? I somewhat doubt it and the board need to question why that gap was so much.
we were clearly a sinking ship under RDM, a ship which Rafa was brought in to save, and to be fair to him he did that, securing a European trophy to boot, so credit to him for that
having said that, we were competing for 8 competitions last season, and failure to win any major trophy would have been very poor
there were some embarrassing showings to boot in those cup exits too, both Carling Cup semis v Swansea, poor showing against Corinthians in the Club World Cup. a limp FA Cup exit, albeit not helped by yet more dismal officiating
League form was maddening, we seemed incapable of putting together a good run of form. hitting Villa for 8 one week, embrassed by QPRse the next having said that, when push cme to shove at the end of the season we did pull ourselves up and credit to Rafa for that
i think the squad he took over was weak though, i think alot of us Chelsea fans last August were actually expressing reservations that we weren't strong enough to compete on the 7 fronts last season i'm not just talking the striker situation here, the squad as a whole was paper thin, especially for a seaosn which ended up sanning nearly 70 games, not including internationals for the most part it's been the individual brilliance of the likes of Mata and Hazard keep kept us going
so in conclusion, i don't think Rafa did brilliantly, but at the same time you can only play the cards you're dealt and he didn't exactly inherit a great situation
Rafa was ok
We underachieved in his tenure but we achieved the target of the season
