I'm all for taking our time, but this is getting silly. The better candidates are going to be snapped up by clubs who don't dither as much as us.
Interesting comments in there though - Eric Steele, Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen have all just left Man United, would be interesting to see a triple-team management combo.
Saying that, I doubt they'd come cheap.
I know what you mean HaaK. We waited, what seemed like an age, for TC and had the quick appointment of DS. Think whatever they do it will be wrong.
Still can't wait to see who we get in Feb 2014.
Doesn't really matter who we appoint as the new manager (sorry, coach) will be inheriting a team of Premiership players who should be more than good enough to get us out of that tiny, insignificant league by a record point's margin.
What!!!!
Update on Head Coach appointment
Wolves have confirmed they are making progress in the search for a new Head Coach.
Head of Football Development and Recruitment, Kevin Thelwell said: “We have formally interviewed several candidates for the role, all of whom have been impressive and of a high quality. Interviewing is continuing.
“While there is often a clamour to make a swift decision, we are taking full advantage of the less pressurised closed season to conduct a thorough and rigorous process to find the right person to help take the Club forward.
“We will provide further information in due course.”

There are positives and negatives coming from these news updates. Firstly they can't have been too impressed with some of the people they have met already and some of the names like McLeish, Warnock, Jackett and McLaren didn't appeal much to me. Also maybe some more impressive people are now entering the frame including Poyet.
On the downside as time drags on then the ones that were interviewed early will think they are not wanted and will look for other jobs and if they are ultimately offered the Wolves job they will wonder what doubts the club had about them when they were interviewed. Not a good start to their time with the club.
The biggest concern remains however that Thelwell seems to be playing a bit part role and Morgan and Moxey seem to remain the main players. And that isn't a situation that has worked well in our last three appointments.
Sharing those same concerns DJ, lets hope we don't have a TC style balls up and put off the best candidates with all this dithering.
But how many of those appointments were made by Moxey, Crikey. According to him he's hired 3 managers, DJ, GH and MM the rest were down to Mr Morgan and also wasn't he the one that didn't want to get rid of MM at that time.
Cheap is what they are looking for.
No big wages
No big contract
No big entourage
They can then sack him with less fuss when the fans turn in early September.
Coyle now 1/2 with some bookmakers
Maybe the wigan job coming open has sped up the process but i can't imagine any of our candidates would be in line for that?
Maybe Coyle or McClaren........ but i would imagine Poyet would be heading the list.
Coyle is actually 3rd fave for the wigan job behind graeme jones and meulensteen.
Jackett 20-1 and sthhheve at a best of 12s but 40s at most others.
Wouldn't have thought Wigan was a much better prospect than Brighton.
Me neither but i figure he has burnt his bridges at Brighton now.
I think some of the most interesting people out there who have been overlooked til recently are the remnants of the Man Utd staff.
Its hard keeping up with what jobs are out there now.
Stoke, Wigan, Everton, Brighton(??), Millwall.....who else am i missing?
I think Wigan will not be a Premier League team again. The only thing that attracts decent players to that club is playing in the Premier League and now that is gone every decent player will leave. The next Wimbledon maybe. Not an attractive job for an ambitious manager, although they do have a decent chairman
Is it me, or does this look as though they have interviewed, made an offer, and been turned down? They are therefore having to look elsewhere.
Could never put it past us Brereton, but that said im not sure which of these guys would fancy themselves a shoe in for any other job?!
