Silly money, why would Neil take a step down in his career for some wee parochial club....
Hope we don't get Lennon as that would really be scraping the barrel
Stick with trying to get Martinez, his experience suits your ambition....
And people are moaning about Martinez???
This guy did run away with the league in a one horse race did he?
They play beautiful football too under Lennon, but you'd expect that with the difference in class and budget compared to their rivals.
For half the price of Felliani, Neil built a team from scratch to beat Barcelona and do a domestic double.
Martinez (great guy) spent £millions on fighting relegation year after year.
But Neil boss's a Scottish team and that means his achievements are dismissed.
THAT is the mindset to be expected from a run-of-the-mill-happy-to-be-in-the-same-league-as-Manchester-United club.
If Wigan,Reading or QPR where in the SPL they would have walked the league no problem.
When you have Motherwell,Ross county and Inverness Cally as your main rivals you know your league is fooked
phil
You can only beat what is in front of you. When Motherwell,Ross county and Inverness Cally play Celtic, their players up-their-game like its a cup final, we're still expected to beat them...EVERY time!
Neil won 2 qualifiers last year before hitting the last 16 of the CL...But he's a shiite manager because he manages a team from a shiite league...Don't you comprehend how it makes it an even greater achievement.
I'd would cry if we got Lennon. I'd take Martinez over the whinging ginger all day.
Alas
Keep your tears in the ducts.
He's ambitious, he's going nowhere.
When your teamshhet is read out in Gaelic then you should win every away game
Terrible style of play they play considering they play against opposition that would struggle in our 4th tier.
O'neill showed ambition by bailing out(you had Rangers then) and look to manage a team in a proper league.
He failed miserably but at least he tried, same goes with Big Eck.When you have to play decent opposition every week then you can get found out.Lennon would struggle managing a championship side as the opposition would be too strong
Just thinking about managers who have moved from Scotland and been a success.........
Errrrr.......
Fergie?
He is probably the only one, there again he was manager of Aberdeen. If he managed Celtic or Rangers he would have probably stayed North of the border as he would have thought that had reached the pinnacle of any managers career
Yeah struggling to think of anyone to come down and do well.
Struggling to think of an English manager who has won the English premier League........
If Lennon was ambitious as someone above claims, why would he stay with Celtic?
Surely if he was ambitious, he would want a bigger challenge than being odds-on favourites to win everything every year for the unforeseeable future?
If he really is ambitious, what better way to satisfy that ambition than getting out of Scotland and into a far more competitive environment?
Never mind the EPL, the Championship would provide that challenge and then some, but of course we're talking of Neil Lennon here, so who knows what he's thinking at the moment.
As for all the Celtic fans who are now grovelling at his feet for winning the SPL and beating Hibs in the cup final, I think great many of them have very short memories clouded by minimal success. Many of them on this very forum were more than a little dissatisfied with his team selections, tactics and erratic touchline behaviour just a few short months ago, but I guess overcoming the likes of Motherwell, Ross County and Inverness along with 7th place Hibs was more than enough to start the Messiah campaign.
